The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

I am interested in the iBasso DX50. I had a Fiio X3 but it stopped charging in the middle of its charge cycle and ended up not working even when plugged in. The only other source that I have is an iPod Nano. So how good is the build quality? Can I use it while it is charging? And finally, can I use the microUSB cable to connect a DAC? I have ordered a C5D DAC/amp and would like to use the external DAC. But if I cannot, then I will hook it up to the line-in of the amp part.

The DX50 is cleaner and more detailed than the X3.

I JUST CANNOT MAKE MY DAMN MIND UP!!

1.ClipZip+rockbox=Love but its time to upgade (OWN_
2.Ipod Classic= Great UI fast browsing but not so god sound (Renting from Best buy)
3.Fiio X3= Returned couldnt browse memory card plus didnt like the sound for the music i listen to and no EQ option
4. Zx-1=have the funds for it but i (Can & Can't depending on the time of day) justify the price tag especially if i can't use it for at least use it a phone nor replace the battery (but i dream about it everynight)
5. DX50=Seems to maybe fit the bill ,Physical buttons, Can change the battery, EQ and expandble Memory

This is why i can only afforedto visit this site Once a year..lol too many hard choices out now.

DX50 is definitely well worth a try and deep in the money. With it's current firmware churning out impeccable sound, it's an overkill for its price tag.

Well the stock battery is rather lousy though. I had my set for around 1mth+ only and it's failing me soon. Full charge lasted me for probably around 5.5-6hrs of listening time.

Wait for another month and look at the first DX90 reviews when they start coming in.

No worries, they'll be a point where miniaturization will reach a dreadful end then we'll be left with nothing to hold in our hands and back to the old days of watching and listening to nature., unless nature looks like the following in a very near future.
