  Hi Guys

I have on of these dx50s reserved for the next batch, I just need to purchase a good matching set of iems to go with it.. Im new enough to the audio area but could anyone recommend a set of iems for a budget of up to 250$,Im sure in time i will move onto some higher end iems lol.. Music I mostly listen to is hard rock with nice guitar solo's..

Any help or advice much appreciated
Steve

You can save yourself some cash and use the BA200's as mentioned by Marleybob217 above. They really capture mids nicely, without sacrificing bottom end or high end. They are not bass monsters so will not add extra bass to your music. They are slighly colored so they will match nicely with the more neutral and bright DX50.

Just my .02$

I'm pretty sure the BA200 will sound better than the 315s. But that's only because I disliked the 425s.

I am now comparing the line-out of the DX50 to that of the audinst HUD-MX1. The HUD-MX1 sounds slightly warmer, slightly more laid back and slightly more balanced I'd say.

But the DX50 has better PRAT, drums are very punchy, but I'm not hearing any less detail methinks. SQ-wise, the line-out of the DX50 is actually not far behind that of the Audinst HUD-MX1, if behind at all.

No problems for me, someone mentioned applying it in the bathroom after a shower, as the steam helps prevent dust from getting under it. So I gave it a go and looks good.

Wow, that might actually work. My problem was that I couldn't get the protective screen on exactly straight. It seems to be an extremely tight fit.

I have 3 pairs of Shure SE iems with the removable cables and they are just fine. I switch them regularly because I have some shorter than the others. Not sure where you heard that but no true. I use the ones without the control, the less complicated parts, the best. The SE215 sounds wonderful with the DX50, pretty sure the SE315 has to be even better.

I ruined the original screen protector, it just wouldn't stick in my instance. Yes it was the right way round. I ended up cutting one from an iPhone 4 protector.

Regarding missing the end of some songs, my unit misses the very start of some tracks, it's very quick. I'll try your method as my gapless is set to closed currently.

That's simply sloppy Chinese to English translation - "closed" actually share the same Chinese character as "off" or "shut". Here it means gapless is "off" and it is expected to have gaps under this setting....

I just read about them in some reviews on the net,but to be fair whenever this did happen it was also mentioned that shure uk had no problems in replacing the items with the customer..I believe it was actually just a faulty batch or something,im not sure..But thanks for the feedback mate..I quite like the shures,i was reading some reviews of them last night in comparing them to the westone um1's.. I live in Ireland,i just wish we had audio stores here that had a nice range of headphones and iems available to try before you buy lol

I pretty sure read that we need to use "Copy in order" (http://www.softpedia.com/get/File-managers/Copy-In-Order.shtml) and that the file names need to have a leading zero...
could give it a try

Thanks alot it works great, though the program did crashed on me the first few times. Where did you read about this? can you link it to me? thanks agn. :D

They are pretty good, love the sound. What a pity about the lack of audio stores, even if we have some here we still don't have the more expensive ones being displayed (considered audiophile quality like the hd800, etc..). I guess that's why you have meets.

The ones I have is the standard se215 and the blue ones which is a modified version of the SE215, they do sound slightly different. My other pair is the se535 which I adore. I know there are better ones out there but so far that's all I can go price wise. It does not mean I am not going to change my mind down the road. The Westone is also a good brand and also affordable. If you can afford the ones with more drivers then you should go ahead, that seriously improves the sq.

Agreed, I have the SE215 and the SE425, and they both sound great on the DX50. no complains at all.

I use the se846 with siltech duchess crown cable on the dx50 n they sound fabulous! It's just funny that, to me, it actually sounds better without amping it thru my 71b uber mini to mini; on the other hand my rsa balanced uber 1p2 sounds perfect when amped by the 71b, whether on dx50 or ak120, perhaps it's all about pairing, the rsa house sound pairs so well with the uber, yet not suited for the siltech... But as a newbie, these compatibility factors are so intriguing n fun! Just love this hobby!!!
Now I am super happy with my sets:
1/. Dx50+71b+1p2
2/. Ak120+se846
