Well, would you rather make it wear an ugly condom or a nice leather jacket if you had to?

Well, if it is a ugly condom made of good quality material similar to my Ringke Cowon J3 case, but better, then i actually wouldn't mind at all.

But if its a nice leather jacket but its material quality sucks.. well, i would still go for the awesome but ugly condom than a crappy leather jacket that would probably start to flake in a month or two.

Is it fine to say that maybe Colorfly is... more famous, therefore third party companies are willing to make them? iBasso would have to do a bit more PR-ing to manage that :/

Well it depends on the overseas market, I am in Australia. All I can tell you from here is that iBasso would be better known over Colorfly as a brand name. How they see things over there, I really don't know.

Thank you for the reply,
I know the DX50 can't work as a USB DAC now, but is it possible in the future for a new firmware that will enable the DX50 to work as a USB DAC?
Or is the hardware in the DX50 technically impossible for a firmware update to give the USB DAC feature?

Regards
David

Hi,

Will iBasso update DX50 firmware with USB DAC feature?

regards,
David

Oohh shuuttt uppp..!! You talk too much iBasso!!

But seriously... can't they give a better explanation to the no than just give an automated like response..
Was hoping USB DAC will be included in the future, but oh well guess that's out of the window now

I don't know to be frank. the DX50 to me now sounds very good without amps. But of cause, if there's a mod to significantly improve the overall sound signature without having to get an amp to pair with, why the hell not?! it's easier to slide it into our pockets!

Yeah if someone can tune it better than them, its pretty awesome for this form factor...

Could someone please confirm if the 64 gb micro sdxc works fromatted as exFAT, or we need to format to FAT32 just like Galaxy S3??
It would be good to finally take advantage of an "sdxc" micro sd card with the DX50...

My toshiba 64gb sdxc card is running exFAT. No problem for the dx50 supporting the exFAT.

I am more interested if the future firmware can allow us to install the USB Recorder Pro type software so that the player can send USB audio out from the usb port. This seems to be feasible considering that the firmware is in fact Android. To me this is a much desired feature especially when there are a wide range of usb dac/amp products on the market.  If such option is available, I will seriously consider to purchase one more unit. Having said that, they should also focus on fixing the coaxial output issue first... LoL

Anyway, thanks for asking and sharing the response with us.

Received my DX50 just now. I'm hitting myself on not choosing EMS when you guys were initially alerting about DHL, I was charged INR 600 (10 USD) extra as Duty!

I received many products from EMS even FedEx, never charged anything!
Will try to post some pictures for those who haven't received :)

no problem,
one reason why i'm interested in usb dac is that my laptop audio sucks so bad lol
but is there any deterioration in the SQ using USB recorder pro? If the DAP was not built to accommodate USB DAC, i'm a bit skeptical that a software can replicate true USB DACs.
I haven't tried the software before, so pardon me if i'm getting everything wrong/misunderstanding =)

I haven't got a dx50 yet. Just following the comments from the owners here on head fi and, so far, everybody seems to be happy with the SQ.
.......however: am I the only one to think why on earth at iBasso's they couldn't come up with a better or more "elegant" or "integrated" solution than just print VOL, Hold....etc on the screen?
