The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

iBasso just emailed me and told me their courier, EMS returned my DX50 because it contained batteries. It did not even get a chance to leave China as their courier refused to ship it. For anyone that is ordering a DX50 and considering EMS, I would suggest using DHL. Now I have to wait even longer to receive my DX50, I hope my wait is worth it.

I am currently using the DX50 + Pico Slim and based on my memory, the DX100 (unamped) is a league above the DX50 (note that my DX50 only has about 20hours).

However, when the DX100 was just released, the SQ wasn't fantastic either. It was through many firmware revisions that the DX100 became the polished gem it is known for today.

I certainly hope that the DX50 will follow the same path.

uelover, is the comparison between dx100 (unamped) vs dx50 unamped or dx100 (unamped) vs dx50+pico slim?

maybe you should try unamped DX50? I may be wrong, but pico slim shouldn't really be better than what is integrated in DX50...

uha-6s mkii is better than the integrated amp on the dx50. Not by much for my UERMs, but definitely better when using my hd600s.

I have tried the DX50 unamped.

Adding the Pico Slim is much better. Trust me...

I guess we have all our own sonic preferences and ear perceptions

Among the amps I have, I also paired it with the Pico Slim and to tell you frankly the dap sounds much better without the amp like @Greed proposed.

I paired it with the Intruder and the D12, the D12 was quite good, the Intruder not too far behind (Single ended mode - balanced, no contest - see disclaimer below

My humble opinion (disclaimer

Greed you were correct about the PP stacking on the DX50, it looks and sounds great. I think with just IEMs DX50 alone is a good enough enough portable for me. Although there is a slight hiss with my very sensitive JH5.

EDIT:^^^ Looks like someone really really has that new toy syndrome bad

Weird - mine was delivered quickly to the UK without issues by EMS

Spot check. Where I am the only thing I can use is ems.
