Just got the DX50 in, was curious how long it takes others to copy files over. I'm copying in chunks just to avoid any potential hangups but it's sayin it will take 16 minutes to copy 2.74 GB over. Is this normal?

Getting a USB card reader will make the life easier.
Copying via the DX50 is slower compared with using card reader.

Took about 80 mins to copy ~30 GB to my 32GB class 4 card, FYI.

To the technically inclined, feedback requested.

I seem to prefer the gain set to its highest setting - provides a more detailed and dynamic presentation from the HO.

As the gain is increased, is this simply a voltage increase in the signal? When maintaining gain at its highest setting, should I be aware of any detrimental effects to my IEM (SE535LTD in this case)?

Same impression here, I like to hear in gain 2 or 3, to me gain 1 is not that good or I have to crank the volume up (which I don´t like) I prefer to hear at low volumes and be able to enjoy music.
I tried it with different cans and IEMs and the same impression came over and over.

I don´t know because at the first time I just copied some files to the intern memory (I couldn´t wait) and I used an old card that was already full (Clip +).
But since I have been changing some folders and some files, the total time for 10 Gb was around 10 min (with usb cabel)

More than one of us has found that combination to be quite disappointing.

Then again, I can't find anything that pairs well with the RE-400s.  I'm starting to think my pair is defective.
to my ears the DX50 and Re400 is not good. It sounds much better just out if the iphone4s. Out of my Audio Gd 15.32 it also sounds great so I don't think I have a defective pair. Try yours from ddifferent sources and try different tips. The RE400s are very very top dependent

  Hello Fellas!

I was following this thread for some time but now it just got too many posts and I'm a little bit confused now. Plus nearly every post I read here is about complaining about the DX50. So please let me ask one or two questions.
Is it really that crap right now? I'm gonna load it once with a 32 or 64gig card full of music and won't touch that section for some time.
This scanning stuff appears all the time or only when I want it to scan?
Is 1.2.2 stable enough for every day use?

Your help is appreciated!

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom, as for me dx50 - is quite nice and stable. As i used to have all music sorted by directories and not to use tags i haven't any troubles as with 1.2.2 nor with 1.2.3b.

Hey SergeKo,

I'm going to do the same . Do you mean song information under tag? Do I have to delete them in which songs I already have it?
With this you can avoid the "sd card scanning bug"?

you will get a variety of answers from different people. I have a 7th batch DX50 running 1.2.3 beta and I haven't had a single problem at all.

Hey kskwerl,

It's nice to hear. So different batches may have different build, components? Or what is the reason?
It depends who you talk to. My personal opinion, I feel that version 1.2.3beta is not prime for use yet. if I were you I'd wait for the official release. In the meantime 1.2.2 is working ok,it has its issues but not to the extend of the beta firmware.

I hope that helps in your final decision.

Just so we put things straight, beta is for experimentation. The expectation is that the software might misbehave or lock up or shutdown so do not expect the functionality of a so called polished release. It's meant for early adoption and finding bugs in order to get fixed with the final release.

Hey musicheacen,

I wouldn't expect a beta fw to be stable, but lots of people seem to have trouble even with the 1.2.2 release.

That's cool! Thanks, you helped a lot!

Edit(Didn't wanted to doublepost)
Another topic.
What Impedance IEM or headphones do I need for this player? Is the gain switch for adjusting this? Can someone explain?

Thanks!

  it asks..
after inserting card :  "scan media" or "browse directory"....

you can use second option and all will be alright..

"scan media" on 1.2.3b are a bit crappy..

Working flawlessly here...
