question number ONE: do you really need an amp for DX50?

question number TWO: depennds on the answer to Q1

frankly speaking i remember how many people hoped DX50 would be perfect and would not require amping.

Frankly, we're all far, far beyond "need" aren't we? The DX50 sounds great, with an external amp things can get even better.

Glad I'm not the only crazy person one who thinks Ibasso really hit it out of the park with the DX50.

Soren and Lin, I'm not rushing into selling my DX100. In fact I had it listed last week but ended up selling my RWAK100 instead. I need the amp in the DX100 to power my new HD700s that arrived tonight.... Sublime!

In fact I can see the DX100 getting a new lease of life come to think of it....:):):)

  High gain has less hiss...

talking about hiss - after the update, the hiss is MUCH less on all gain levels. I don't know how the **** they manage to do it with firmware update, but still...

And did I mention improved sound?

I don't understand either. Must be me forgetting the sound. Can't believe it was that good. Should've done a Before-After to compare!

hahaha.... you right, audio gear madness never stops, you just put a stopper promising yourself this was your last purchase when there comes something new and your hand involuntary reaches for the wallet.

call it "gear addiction", which is good for your health (mood) but bad for your wallet

this is how i do all my firmware updates:
- remove my microsd
- factory reset the dx50
- plug the dx50 to my win7 pc
- load the new firmware to the internal memory
- safely remove dx50
- perform the firmware update
- plug the dx50 back to the pc and delete the firmware image
- safely remove the dx50
- perform another factory reset
- insert my microsd back to the dx50

so far i've not encountered any problems with these steps

After updating to latest firmware (1.2.2) it seems that it doesn't want to update library.
I've done reset like every update and the microsd is the same I had, everything seems ok but this time doesn't stop on screen to build library from SD, the card is recognized I can see the music but the library isn't build, only from internal memory.

Any way to force manually the library update?

eject sd card and re-insert whilst player is on

Thanks, I haven't try it because I preferred do as always.

At least in my case, it seems the scan only works (automatically) with the internal storage, with the others firmwares the first time it was automatically (internal storage) but after that, it stopped a second time and I could scan the external SD.
It seems that to solve the continuous screen of updating library they have eliminated the possibility of doing it manually, maybe an option in the menu will be useful.
