Rockbox in its default configuration changes nothing. What's recorded is what you hear, modulo however your headphones or speakers color the sound.

Thats good, but since i just had heard the sound from the fw1.2.8, and it seems previous FW had different sound signatures,   Does RB it changes something against the 1.2.8?
i guess i would apply the EQ on the lowest side

Just installed RB FW. When I go to Database, appears it only indexed the files from the internal storage /sdcard and not the external card /mnt/external_sd.

How do I force it to read the external SD so it also index the files in the external SD.

One more thing holding volume - & power button seems to only reboot DX50 to RB not the original FW

Managed to index the files in external SD. Still can't make the Power + volume down to boot from previous firmware.

Rockbox is transparent. It does no EQ, no shaping, no nothing, not unless you explicitly configure it to do these things. If Mango does do any of these things then Rockbox will "change" the sound back to what's recorded by not doing any of them. What you hear out of Rockbox really is what's recorded modulo any color added by your headphones or non-transparent amplifiers.

I think you need to manually initiate the database scan the first time.

The toggle is a bit tricky: press and hold vol-, press power, hold for about a half second, then release both vol- and power. It should restart within a few seconds.

Listening now on rockboxed DX50. So far the lock button seems erratic. The song currently playing still plays but no sound coming out if I switch on the lock button

The lock switch has no effect if the line out is in use instead of the headphone out. Coax out may be weird but I have no way to test that.

Pause/resume on headphone unplug/plug is not working for me.

I have just read that USB OTG now works. Does that mean it will drive a USB DAC? If so, has anyone tried it with an iBasso D42?

Does OTG work with 1.2 8, or only with Rockbox?

Does volume up/down button affects volume in HO? It does not seem to be the case for me. I had to adjust volume from the menu. It appears LO has a fix volume.

Wow! Thank you for lots of feedback!
I've updated the page https://bitbucket.org/isergachev/rockbox/wiki/edit/Home based on it.

>move settings back to /sdcard
a little bit difficult, have to think how to do it best first

>Holding the FF and RW buttons doesn't repeat in menus.
and should?

>Any news about battery performance:
looks not worse than mango to me - low load in 'top', hours of playing

>Does RB it changes something against the 1.2.8? i guess i would apply the EQ on the lowest side
No, rockbox and mango are completely independent.

> So far the lock button seems erratic. The song currently playing still plays but no sound coming out if I switch on the lock button
lock button should not affect sound at all, does it?

lineout should have fixed volume, no?
