MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones

They are on the heavy side compared to many other headphones, but what is very important to remember is weight distribution which many companies can't seem to get right. With the comfort strap, the Alpha Dogs feel secure and comfortable due to evenly distributed weight. Haven't had problems with the weight.

Anyone that knows me well enough, will know how absolutely critical I am of headphone comfort. Weight is a big issue with me normally. That said, the Alpha Dogs just don't really bother even with the weight. One of the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

The Liquid Crystal Display 2s (LCD-2) kept sliding off my head...not so with the Alpha Dog! I still found them quite heavy on my head, but they were secure and stayed in place even when moving around my desk.

As mikemercer said in his review, they're like leather pillows on your face.

Dan - I wear my Mad Dogs close to the shortest headband extension length due to a small head. Will this be a possible issue with the Alpha Dog?  Thank you and Happy New Year!

The fit of the AD is very similar to the MD. You should have no problem IMO.

Actually, an interesting difference is that the ear cups on the AD are thicker, which puts the attachment points for the headband farther from one's head.  The resulting  clamping force direction is slightly different.  I have yet to notice any resulting difference in fit from this, but it could conceivably make a difference for some particular head shape...

We haven't yet had anyone who found them too small or too large, and we only had one person who found the Mad Dog too big, so it's likely OK, but YMMV and all that.

The AD will use more of the extension arms than the MD to the same head, so he should be fine.

Palladia has a Crossroads Guitar Festival marathon today. I listened to some performances with the Alpha Dogs & it sounded great ! Extended bass, good separation & detail ... and fun seeing the action with improved sound (esp. without disturbing the condo neighbors after a late night of celebration, haha).

Sometimes we (I'm guilty as charged) get way to caught up in high resolution or reference quality material, or noting the flaws in poorer recorded releases.

It's good to keep it fun & just plain appreciate the music. Do yourself a favor, find a good or fave guitarist on the Crossroads feed today and ENJOY ... esp. with the Alpha Dogs if you are fortunate to have them.

It looks the Woo Audio stand is made for the AD and the AD’s stand is good for the HD800. Win Win
