According to http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2894913260 the soundsignature of the models should be close to:

VSD3: Shure SE535
VSD3S: Westone W40
VSD5: Sony EX1000

Iam not sure what the infos are worth as it seems, random people replied to one guy asking about the soundsignatures

That is also what the Vsonic CEO claims so probably the infos came from him.

It's pretty funny reading all of those...all of the Chinese interspersed with "SE535" and "EXk" etc. Then randomly...Lotus Wang? o_O

VSD3 consistently being compared to multi-BA headphones - isn't this supposed to be a dynamic driver? I know the GR07 had some of the characteristics of BA's (quick bass, short decay, sharp highs) but isn't it a bit odds that they are going after muti-BA phone sound with this? The DITA doesn't even try to compare to BA phones and it is a high performance dynamic... (if VSD3 is BA - never mind)

I'm still waiting on some clear statement from Vsonic, if new VSD3/5 line is for them upgrade to GR07 or just one of lower end models.

IMO, the new Vsonic models are not upgrade to higher end models like GR01, GR07, and VC1000 because of the price difference. The higher end models did not have an adjustment to their prices. I think they are upgrade to GR06 and VSD1 because recently there is an adjustment on the price of GR06, from 399 yuan (60USD), they are now sold at 198 yuan (31 USD).

GR07 Classic for $100 is an adjustment made not long ago.

Wasn't the MKII and BE discontinued in favor of the classic? Those ones still sold in China might just be last of store's stock unless they continually get new shipments.

There was an announcement to discontinue the BEs(not sure though if MKIIs are included in the said announcement) but after a few months, Vsonic decided to resume the production of the BEs. Granting that the Classic will replace the MKIIs and the BEs in the near future, I still cant believe that a company will sell an IEM and priced them lower that their higher models will be an upgrade, there is something wrong here. Of course, I also want that to happen because it will benefit the consumers.
