....  Sadly I am not one of them :).

that seemed like a pretty smart reply to me.
Styles, Over the ear is something that takes some getting used to. I wear glasses and found ear wrapped iems uncomfortable at first. Now, if I could just get used to ON EAR headphones instead of Circumaural.
I don't think you'd go wrong with the Tenores. I use the Hybrid tips from Sony with mine. Really good isolation, still haven't been hit by a car, bike or train. :)

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum/site and could use the opinion of experts and pros like you.

I'm looking for some in ear headphones and after hours of looking online (so many products and reviews to go through) I stumbled upon the Zero Audio Tenore and Basso. I currently have the Audio Technica's ATH-M50 which are great and all but truthfully I don't like carrying them around with me (mostly due to bulk/size/weight and the fact I'm in NYC and every hipster is apparently now an audiophile and must have their Sony's or retro looking headphones from the salvation army). Well enough ranting lol. What I'm looking for is something around the $100 dollar range I could use mostly to listen to music but with the option of using them while jamming on my bass. I have a wide range of styles I listen and play to (from funky slaps such as RHCP to some Marvin Gaye to techno/euro trance). One REALLY important factor is the shape. I've tried many in-ear headphones and the only shape that fits like a glove is something like this: Denon AH-C360 which I can even sleep with but of course the sound isn't exactly something to talk about. They won't be used to sleep with however, I just wanted to point out the shape (as there's tons of shapes out there in particular the ones with the cable going around the ear or like the Bose IE2 which give me a massive earache).

With this in mind, any recommendations between the Tenore and Basso? From what I've read so far it seems the majority is set on the Tenore however, the volume issue and cable housing pic got me worried. They seem to be going for around $50 dollars at the moment. Are the JVC FX3X any better? Any other options around the $100 price mark (I mean it could be $110 or so, just somewhere near that price).

Thank you so much guys, truly appreciate any help as whatever you guys tell me I'm buying right away (will let you know my review once I get them).

The physical form you want them at least helps limit your options.

Btw, the Tenores and the FX3X are massively different (the FX3X's are bass monsters with a more classic V signature) whereas the Tenores are much more neutral and balanced. I'm not sure which signature matches your preferences better.

You might want to look at the Tpeos Altone 200. They have the right shape for you, and the last I checked (which granted was a while ago), are quite good value for the money (although just a bit more than what you are wanting to pay). Or some used Dunu 1000's. Or or or lol.

I don't have Tenore. But those are demo unit from local store (Bass Audio) at Bandung, Indonesia. I have the spinfit tips (gift from Jaben Network), it feels more comfortable for Tenore. And I can push Tenore deeper

Hiya guys,
Just wanted to follow up as promised and let you know I went with the Tenore's (just got them yesterday). So far they are amazing!!

The plugs that came with them fit perfect (in fact the medium sized one that came installed fits perfect) however, I wear earplugs to go to sleep so I'm interested in trying squishy type earphone tips so I'm still interested in trying the Comply T-400 Tips I've heard so much about. Does anyone know if the medium T-400 tips would be the correct size if the one installed on the Tenore were the closest fit? The ones that came with the Tenore's do an amazing job at isolating (MUCH MUCH better than any large headphone such as my Audio Technica M50 has ever done).

Thanks.

I just got a pair of (reference) Tenores second hand. They synergize really well with the Clip+ and Ortofon tips.

Good and bad. I'll definitely get those videos up sooner or later. But things are crazy at the moment.
