Music, do i hear it right you are the next in line to torture ASG2?
If so wait for your impressions.

After Mr Sparrow's reviews on the Paterre, I am also very interested in reading his comments on the ASG-2.  The pair should be properly burn-in.

I mentioned earlier that I didn't hear any repeatable changes when using the 1P2 with the ASG-2's stock cable. Idsync also said the same.

I trust we'll let the debates end for now.

idsync, you dirty mofo, when are you going to post impressions and comparisons?

Carlsan, the first post is patiently waiting.

No worries. I have to test 1plus2 out for myself eventually anyway since everyone hears things differently, so I'll just leave it at that for now. Let's continue to enjoy our ASG-2! One of my favorites on ASG-2:

And this too:

Thanks Eke, i found it, was too lazy scroll through before.

And i am now having randevouz with Barbara Streisand, she came to sing in my house, such a lovely feel, to be frank she sings at Village Vanguard but my front end allows me to be present there without the need of taking a flight and spinning time back... one word, wow, sorry my portables but that's what i call a good piece of fleisch on a sugar bone... Music4321, you know what, have you ever seen a Peking duck flying? believe me i saw it :-D)))

Here is what i am talking about, Barbara Streisand - The Golden Female Voice of America !!!:

C3 with all its imperfections is still super great product and with BH it is top class. I am aware of roll off but somehow this even helps my H200 and RDB+v1, for 99$ no brainer for me and i love its mid centric clean sound, real burgain.

c). Do cables matter in general and to what extend, especially in the unique case of 1plus2 which is highly depending on its special cable? The sound of 1plus2 may not even be as good even if we replace its unique cable with the most expensive grade aftermarket cable out there. And before we all go out running and make our own cables using the cheapest copper wires and plugs, we need have an objective perception of the best vs the worst. In the case of 1plus2, it will be to isolate its performance and dependency from its cable given the pricey cost of the cable itself.

For me cables do matter and it's made noticeable improvements on all IEMs I used them with. Now exactly how much better the IEM will sound is not limited to just the cable itself here. Ultimately it's gonna depend on the IEM itself and how much it scales up as you remove weaknesses from the chain. I consider IEMs with this ability to be extremely revealing of the source.

For "better" to mean anything there needs to be a standard against which the iem is compared. For example, what would the "best" iem sound like? What are the attributes of this "best" iem? This is addressed to bluebear also.

best is subjective word, in the end everyone decides for himself what is best. i respect opposite opinions but i have my right to disagree, same applies to everyone of us. what is best for me may be not good for the others. so i am happy to live in my "illusions" :-D

Guys. I'm serious. Chill. This has already taken up more pages than necessary. There will be no resolution to this.

Let's take James' and Idsync's example. They tried the cables, reported their findings, and left it at that.

Agreed. I'm not really interested in talking cables here, just pointing out that labeling one iem as the "best" really makes no sense whatsoever in the way some people are using the label. Different topic imo. "Upgrades", "tiers", and and terms like that should really be more specific. Pointing this out every now and then can really help others who might otherwise buy into an iem without really understanding that it might not be for them.
