got my 325s back either today or yesterday (they were on the stairs; someone brought them in). i sent them on 3/23. not bad.

one thing i noticed is that the mesh on the "fixed" phone (on the ear side of the can) is more opaque than the other one. anyone know what that's all about?

(the return address sticker didn't say Grado Inc; but John Grado. personal service or unbridaled ego? enquiring minds need to know)

I think it happens on all Grado phones. The mesh on my MS1 looked opaque when it was new, it is slowing becoming more transparent.

Robert, does this thread presuppose our knowledge of some sort of wrongdoing that I'm not aware of? Has another story been told that this one attempts to follow up on? Care to elaborate?

so you're lucky because the new mesh will begin to match transparency with time and usage.

Of course, if you got the unmodded Senn pads or the grado comfies and washed them every so often, I'm sure you can reduce the amount of oily residue on the pads.

But yes, it is a tad gross... Especially when I first moved to the 225's with bowls after using the SR-60's with comfies for a long time. I kept thinking, wow, are those oil stains on the mesh? And then I thought, eww that's kinda gross.. I'm not gonna let other people listen to my 225's with the bowl pads cuz I don't want their ear oils touching my ears..

I guess that's why normally before I wear on headphones, I'll use a tissue or something and wipe my ears to reduce the oils.
