Right, but what I was trying to say was that they used the same molds that they did for other members of the K4XX family.  And since they probably weren't about to spend a bunch of money making new molds, they just did a simple repack with different pads.  So while it was packed for and marketed towards French consumers, it wasn't exactly made for them.

BTW, did we totally just hijack Rocky's thread?  Sorry Rocky!

Don't mind it, Actually I pretty enjoy the discussion here. Some good idea pops out. For a brand, it's good to hear different voices, as well as other brand topics lol.

I just got mine, will give impressions in about an hour or so. Thanks.
First thing I noticed is that these are heavy, then I put them in ans listened and man they were clear sounding. The bass was very punchy and the mids were clear as day. Also they seem very balanced.

Drat! I had missed the delivery of these today, and now I have to go out of my way to pick them up tomorrow. Drat!

Oh well, it's only two block's worth of walking away

Two Blocks in America?

Get the airplane. That's way too far. Oh, and order up a side of McDonalds also.

What is this McDonalds you speak of? And airplanes? In animu land we all commute through strategically places cameos, cutaways and segways.

I'll just stick with my Tim Hortons sugar-glazed sugar donuts and diabetes-filled twinkies thank you very much. All with some sugary sweet pineapple drizzled on top.

Received mine last night, I was impressed with the packaging and accessories, as well as the sound - most of the sub $50 single dynamic have either recessed or very laid back mids, bass bleeds, and/or treble with piercing sibilance...

...not this one, very balanced with smooth treble and mid, punchy bass, will easily rival IEM twice its cost.

First impression will be posted tonight, and full review in about a week or so after I have some intimate time with it...

There is a slight supper mid spike. A small V shaped sig. Not really my cup of tea. But I can deal with it. I don't review with EQ.

try with small bore tips mate, all of the stock tips gave me that mid spike, then I tried them with my MEE balanced DF tips, and Sony/VSONIC foam hybrids - got rid of the mid spike, bass impact not as big with them tips but that is an acceptable compromise (for me anyway

^^ The large-bore tips are very grainy sounding, yes. I've already ruined the orange pair of Hybrid clones included (luckily I have the exact same styling of Hybrid clones stocked up) which gave me the best seal overall. Shape/size of the nozzles and housing really benefit from smaller tips as they get the darned things closer into your ear.

Bass bloat (even more so than the Hawkeye/Crater (new version)), grainy treble, upper mids spike as mentioned by Bowei are still present despite whatever means of tip-rolling I've tried. On the plus side mid-midrange seems incredibly linear and crisp to these ears so they do have potential.

And for the love of all that is H-F, EQ the bass on these. Even if you do enjoy copious amounts of wub the tonality and whatever sense of technical proficiency is obscured by the veil from the massively emphasized and slow decay on these. Which makes depth quite nice but there is very little width to begin with and that makes things rather jarring.

Time will tell, and of course these are just the preliminary first-week impressions. I have something interesting in mind so will post that with the review here in the weeks to follow.
