You may well have tried both of these. First, hold the power button for a few seconds to see if that does it. If not, get something very thin such as the end of a paperclip and press the reset button between the headphone and coaxial out. I am sure that would do it.

I didn't say that its the best sounding player, I was referring about the FW 2.14B which most claims that it's the best for the X3 in terms of SQ. Has anyone heard the sound of the Voodoo'd Galaxy S1? I am making a comparison right now and it beats the X3 on overall SQ. Anyways, i am using Sony MDR-EX510 IEM which is offers a neutral response and sound.

I was one of the people who loved the sound of FW2.14B, and kept going back to it. Now  I find FW3.22B and 3.24B to be quite similar to FW2.14B, without the problems it had. I didn't like the sound of FW3.0 or later, until FW3.22B. (I couldn't hear "depth" and the music didn't "resolve".) I encourage you to try the latest FW.

it is very close to us to release the final version for X3. :L3000:

Is this the last release ever for this unit or just a final for this round. I am still hoping for a streamlined user interface. Available skipping to next folder in file mode. Easier bRowsing to tone control and file structure of device while playing a file in particular.

Used to hate the 591's before the x3, now my favorite cans. Love this pair so much I bought another 591 for backup.

for this round only. We will let our user know when we decide to stop the firmware upgrade for X3.

Yes, it'd be a great feature to add a next folder function and auto continuous next folder option too.

I've been very fortunate in that I've had no serious (to me) issues with my X3 and it sounds really, really nice when combined with my Westone W40's. I prefer the sound of the X3 and W12 together but at times that's a bit more than I feel like carrying. It's possible that since all the music on my X3 is in a full album/folder format (when you open the X3 via Windows you see about 70+ separate folders with the albums title and the artist shown) and everything has been tagged including artwork (400X400) before loading it on the player that it lessened the amount of issues I've encountered. All music is in FLAC format and I don't have any single songs or untagged music/folders dragged onto the player. I do feel bad for those that have had issues as I know it can be maddening to have problems when all you want to do is to relax and enjoy your music. I'm looking forward to the final firmware release to see what all that brings to the table. All and all, the X3 has been an incredible bargain once I got use to the button layout and now I don't know what I'd do without it.

I don't use the EQ so I may be avoiding some of the issues others have had.
