I seriously would not buy any of the X3's posted by any of the two sellers right now. The one you posted doesn't even use its correct name so who knows if they are selling the right thing and Amazon may not be able to help you if they sell you something else.

X3's are in America already, they will be posted to Amazon by Micca and others soon.

Oh, I know that is why I haven't made any moves. Emusic Ent. is an authorized dealer, also, so expect them to be posting it at a lower price and fulfilled by Amazon once they see no sales. They did the same thing when the E12 first hit Amazon and its at its regular price, now.

As for the name, yea, quite odd... but Emusic is legit.

The other seller with the legit product name wasn't on the authorized list. But then again, they could be authroized. Some sellers change names across international store fronts or have the actual authorized dealer as one of their resellers(TekFX is the authroized dealer actually and Micca store is one of the stores under their distrubtion as an example)

Shenzen Audio is legit, though I'm not sure if they are an authorized Fiio dealer. I bought my M-Stage from them a while back through Amazon and was extremely pleased with their service. They even sent me a new power cable because the one in the box its power entry was slightly bent and loose. They are, however, authorized Matrix dealers. I would buy the x3 from them if the price was closer to its reg. price

Micca store has it on sale on its website now and with this message

In Stock 8/6/2013 - Authentic US-market stock, not Asian gray-market. Order now and item will ship out by 8/7/2013

http://www.miccastore.com/fiio-portable-mp3-music-player-p-111.html?osCsid=d9e0c84b9decad2082aa39e0ac40e7f7

I have tried to contact them, many times, earlier on the availability and never received any reply from them, so not sure how good or if at all they have a CSR, so decided never to do business with them.

I've bought from them before and didn't have any issue. I think it was when the Fiio E10 first came out. I was planning on waiting a bit before buying as I imagined the X3 would be quite popular where there would be limited stock but ended up buying from micca store and since it ship by 8/7/2013 it shouldn't be too long a wait.

After like two hours of listening to this X3, I couldn't be happier.  Yes, there are some UI quirks that I'm not a fan of, namely when I go by category and artist, I can't sort by album, it just throws all of the songs in one folder.  The only way to go by album is obviously by album, but then you're searching for an album name which I don't always remember.  Kind of a pain.  But other than that, this thing is phenomenal.  Bang for the buck for sure.

I need advice about sound quality comparison.

If playing ALAC and MP3 (320kbs), which setup is a better option for achieving the best sound quality: rich, thick, clarity, big soundstage, and good separation.

SETUP 1: iPod Classic 160 G + VentureCraft SDT ( or Vamp Verza)

SETUP 2: Fiio X3 + Leckerton UHA-6S.MKII

Is there an easy way to store FLAC and APE in iPod Claasic?

So what does it do...just take the tag and rename it to track number and tag title? If yes I will give it a shot. I've got both a pc and Mac.

Yep. You just open your whole library in a playlist, select all (Ctrl-A), right-click on any of the selected files and choose File operations->Rename to...
It opens a dialog, where you should click on an ellipsis next to the File name pattern field and choose something like d.nn. title or d.nn. artist - title or whatever you please. And then just press Run and Foobar will rename your files using your tags (if there's no tags I suppose it will use file name for Title).
Make sure you don't select Move or Copy instead of Rename, so that the Destination folder is greyed out and there's no backslashes in the File name pattern. Unless you want to do something with your folder structure as well.

Rockbox.  Drag and drop Flac or whatever music files from PC, then play.

The thread is right. The player you're discussing is wrong

I always thought its more logical to stick with ipod if the music collection is mostly in apple lossless format...

Did it.  Worked brilliantly and it was quick too.  Thank you so much for explaining it.  Muuuuuch better now.  Figured out how to organize the music better in folders on the X3 now as well and with the new file names, everything is good to go.  Not perfect, but perfectly usable.  Thanks again!
