i told my parents i was thinking of spending well over 1 grand on a nice audio rig and they went crazy.

You should explain them the benefits of high end audio.

I just compare the cost of the headphones to the cost of the guitar or skateboard or whatever their hobby is and hope they understand....

Sorry for half off topic post but i got asked a nonsensical question a few days ago.

guy: Hey!! When is HD900 coming out??
me: uhh... not anytime soon...
guy: What?? Shet....!
me: Why? Your HD800 that you broke not good enough for you? Not enough bass?
guy: no.... just asking..... So when do you think it's coming out?
me: 99.99% not in  5 years, 95% not in 10 years, and 50% never coming out.
guy: dam.....
me: i assure you that you would finish high school and collage way before any mention of it releases.
guy: why is that so??
me: Bad business and marketing strategy. Also do you really think it is that easy to make one?
guy: oh....

Totally not off-topic or anything like that, but...

I was talking about the "journey" a while ago (and about Apple).
I received my Mytek Stereo 192 DSD-DAC this morning and it sounds epic.
And the swag level of Mytek + V200 stacked is just over 9000, this looks badass.
I heard that the Mytek has burn-in, but I'm not that much of a believer of burn-in.
Probably the brain adjusting instead of the other way around.

The latest 4 photos are new:

Well today (and many other times, I live in Brazil for 6 months at a time) a Brazilian wanted to try out my entry level HFI 580's with E6 combo. I have a set of newly acquired HE-400's and a Maverick Audio A1 at home, waiting to be shipped down :).

Anyways the setup right now goes Foobar2k >  RBE > Wasapi > Flac
. He decided to go onto Youtube and try out a few songs like 'I Cry' and a few other modern pop songs. Anyways he said he liked Daft Punk so I decided to play him 'Get Lucky' with a 2926k FLAC bitrate with 88,2 Hz sample rate. Well I didn't get my headphones back for about 30 minutes because he kept scrolling through my music library choosing some SHM, Daft Punk, and other electronica.

His response (in Portuguese) was very very very good! :)

EDIT ** Might I add, he listened to about 1/3'rd of my FLAC discography of Daft Punk, so much longer than half an hour. :)
