JVC's new flagship DX2000?

Not to bump up/ necro such an old thread, but are there really no other reviews/impressions of these cans? All I can tell from DX1000 reviews is that they sound NOTHING like the pair of DX2000's I own, and I have absolutely no one to compare my observations to... Which is very strange considering the sound of these cans are world-class, and are freakishly efficient and impressive.

Anyone here with any other impressions?

I've tested both the TH-900 and the JVC DX-2000. To me I prefer the DX-2000's sound. Its amazing,clear and the sound stage is really nice. Best part is it works on most music derived stuff (phones,laptops,music players, etc.) without the need for an amp like the TH-900.
 
However I do not know what the DX1000 sounds like so I can't make a comparison on that stage. Could anyone please let me know if the DX2000 sounds better than the DX1000? Thanks!

I wonder if I can get a replacement hinge for my DX1000 using the DX2000 hinge part.

I find it really a surprise that you prefer the DX2000 over the TH900. I have the DX1000 and although I really love it, to me there's no comparison between it and the Fostex.
 
Is the DX2000 so different from the DX1000? When will we have a direct comparison between the two????????????????????

As you can see in the thread below, I corrected myself as the TH900 I used initially had a small problem with it.

Probably never. There is no reason fore anyone to have both as they are identical but for the cosmetics. The DX2000 is a limited edition black model in honor of the anniversary of JVC's greater China distributor.

If my memory serves me right it was established (but it was maybe another thread) that according to the JVC China webpage the DX-2000 has new neodymium magnets being 30% more poweful than previous models and that the drivers are newly developed. If you speak chinese can you check their website and confirm that?

it most definitely did say 30% more powerful when I looked at a few sites. I think someone really needs to check these out...

Can't remember who bought a DX2000 off the forum around Feb-Mar this year, guess I can find out and ask him. I was gonna pull the trigger so I can compare it with my DX1000. But the Aussie dollar started to slide like crazy.
