Those look just like Monster Gels. Are they similar soundwise?

But I listen to my H-200 on moderate-high volume...

So do I my friend, so do I.

I am not saying yours isn't there, or questioning what you're hearing. The experiences I've had with two of the same model IEM recently has made me question a few things about this hobby and varied quite a lot, the most recent being Westone 4 vs Westone 4R which I had at the same time, another with two sets of Brainwavs B2, these did not sound exactly the same. I would not doubt at all you're hearing things that way because I lean towards the probability of ours sounding different or maybe yours are marginally faulty.

I cannot explain what happened to my pair, our age and hearing ability might be different and have an effect, there's so many variables to account for what we're hearing, but my pair are really not sibilant and the peak which would jump out in the upper mids like almost "shouty" with some female vocals now absent. I was about to put them down and did so many times. That over night run in at high volume when they were new was a last resort,  I had no hope it was going to work. But now I can listen to them no problems, it no longer effects me. (thankfully)

Wayne doesn't mention it nore do many other, but your pair seems to have a real issue with it.

Been a long time since I've tried genuine Monster gels, but they're very similar in appearance and texture. They seem to open up the stage and let the left/right channels breath away from the slightly centric mids, improves the coherency of the left/right channels. and it also just tames a touch of that metallic tinge present upstairs. kind of soothes them.

I recommend give them a try, I prefer them over the Vmoda tips I was using previously.

Yup, I heard it at first and it bugged me a bit because my ears are also sensitive to sibilance. The issue seemed to go away for me when I switched to the mh1c large tips, but the timing may have coincided with getting an appropriate amount of burn in on them. At any rate, I never think about sibilance with the H200's any more at all.I think I'll track down d marc0's "sibilance torture test" track again and give it a whirl.

I personally doubt mine is faulty. I tried two different pairs of H-200 at an store, and they all sounded about the same. No driver mismatch or anything.

Damn. The peak is really driving me nuts. Recently, my ears got super sensitive to sibilance, and H-200 is too harsh. But it still impresses me though. I feel sad. It's such a great iem. It seems like EQ on AK100 doesn't cut it for H-200.

You might wanna try this:
Take a couple of earbud foam covers. Thick, premium ones are preferred.

Wrap one cover on each nozzle then insert the STOCK silicone tip over it.
Cut out the excess foam from the base of the sleeve.
Hopefully the reduction of sibilance will be a significant margin for you.
Goodluck!

That's a pretty good idea. I'll try it tonight. I guess I'll experiment with different materials. Thanks!

Just an interest check, but how many of you would be interested if I have a H-200 for a short loan tour around CONUS? It'll be for free, but you will be expected to post a short impression, and ship the H-200 to the next person.

^ If i like what i hear can i keep it???

Here is a magical tip if you don't like the V shaped sig of H-200. Roll up a tiny ball of tiny tissue and put it in the space between the damper and the tip of the nozzle(so inside the tips). Don't put too much as you will loose upper mids and treble. But if you get the right amount of tissue in, the sound becomes very warm and rich. Rich mids and warm bass. No more sibilance. It's night and day(I know you've heard lots of head-fiers saying this, but this is real). But just know that you will need more power to drive them, as the tissue works as a filter. I'm liking my H-200 now. I'll post some pics later.

Lol. IDK man. I might actually sell it. BTW, have you been following the rap battle between Korean rappers? It's quite fascinating, although I'm not into rap.

^ Yeppp IT WAS LITERALLY OUTTA' CONTROL!!!

Good outlet for heads to truly vent their repressed sentiments/ dirty laundry out into the public. And they were getting tons of media spotlight/ coverage as well, WIN WIN for the Korean Hip Hop scene so it's all in good fun.

It still hasn't died down yet??? Hiphopplaya did an amazing job of listing all the relevant as well as not so relevant verses. So props to them.
