yes i understand but under 50 USD, most of them usually have little-bass and lack of clarity. i use shure cx-500 and creative ep-630 in low-cost category, there are cool bass. i can recomend it.

Most lack clarity, but there is one right now on clearance that has VERY good clarity: RE0: http://head-direct.com/Products/?act=detail&id=38

Sennheiser CX150's are decent for $17 with a nice soundstage and are quite comfortable... though they are a bit dark sounding. I'd still go with the RE0's just because their detail is insane for that money. They aren't bass monsters, though they can EQ to have very potent bass.

Another suggestion is of course, the Sony MH1C for $30. Its a fun, distortion free (albeit bass heavy) IEM. Cord is a PITA, but its definitely worth $30.

I've made some topic but people did not reply yet.

How is the Bass on the E10 compared to the Philips SHE 9000?
Are there other alternatives?

Seeking for good in ears is a pain..

Hm alright, I'll look into them. If you can listen to your friends pair, can you tell me how they are? I'm pretty much a noob with the techy words, so simple words would be great.

I will as soon as i can, its just right now I'm kind of a distance away. But i will get back to you on that as soon as i can! And its okay, you gotta start some where! But really look into the e10's, i really think they are something you'd like. Also, if you have any questions about anything, and just wanna private message me, i won't mind at all. (i'm no expert, trust me. There's words i dont know too!)

Alright, thanks a bunch for the help. I probably won't decide on a pair of IEM's for a few days and maybe not till after the Holidays or if there's a big sale.

Yeah, I've read Joker's thread quite a few times over a while trying to decide. Those GR06's seem very nice. I'll keep those in the back of my mind as I look for other ones.

Hm, don't the RE0's have very little bass while the RE-Zero's have a good amount of bass? I don't remember where I read it, but I think that's what I found. I use my iPhone as my music player while at school and Foobar with a custom EQ while at home. The EQ sucks horribly on iPhone, but I'll think about them.

I was actually really tempted to get a pair of MH1C's, but since I can only find them on eBay, I probably won't be picking up a pair. I'm not too trustworthy of eBay and can't tell if things are fake or not.

I have tried both the re0 and re-zero. i found the bass on the reo to be better because the zeros were sooo upper/mid forward and aggressive i couldnt notice the bass. reo bass to me is just the right amount but im no bass head. or i used to be until i realized i was drowning my music. they extend well and have quick impact but they dont rattle your head. you can buy the sony mh1c off amazon if you want more resonating bass. they are still fantastic iems, i use them for gaming. they just arent quite as detailed as the reo though.

So what you're saying is that the RE0's have less impact and strength than the RE-Zero's, but the clarity and accuracy of the bass is better? Is your picture of the V-MODA Vibrato's? If it is, do you own a pair? If you do, how is the bass compared to the RE0's? My friend owns Vibrato's and I like them but they don't fit right for me personally - I have to shove them super far into my ear.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to bump the thread.

I'm thinking about also purchasing an FiiO E5 a bit after I get the headphones - maybe after christmas or so. Would this make the RE0's have nice strong bass? I'm stuck between the RE0's and the GR06's.

You want to purchase these.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Livesound-Headphones-Earphones-Head-sets/dp/B008CCSD7K

There is a thread on these called, Best kept secret, or something. They are also mentioned heavily in the discovery thread.

For you, the mh1c are better than everything listed so far. While the re0 and re-zeros are great, they are not what you are looking for.

i really don't recomend any iem under 50 USD, most of them usually have little-bass and lack of clarity.

Don't listen to this guy. Not true, not even close. The mh1c has great subbass + nice textured and warm bass. Greattttt clarity.

Edit: Ebay is still at the price most of us bought it for, which is in the $20~.

Yeah, these were mentioned and I was pretty tempted to get them, but not from eBay. Mainly because the shipping takes forever, I don't have a paypal (I'm 16 so I use my parents credit card for online purchases), and I don't trust ebay that much.

So the MH1C's are really that great?

They are very musical and the sound quality is on par with much more expensive IEMs. They will work very well with the style of music you listed.

Yeah, I used amazon prime and it somehow came in 1 day, instead of the regular 2 days.

The sonys are great fun to use for sure but i find they lack the definition of the re0s but the sonys have a wider soundtage. honestly any of the 3 you have narrowed it to will be great buys for different reasons. re0 for effortless clarity and detail, sonys for easy-to-like distortion free sound. i have no experience with the vsonic though they are loved on head fi.

Can you explain to me what soundstage is? Like, how do I notice it? I think it's how defined each part of the song is, correct? Sorry for not knowing much.

Dec 14, 2012 at 7:33 PM Post #30 of 42
Definition is different than soundstage and is closer to instrument separation (ie: distinctly hearing different instruments). Soundstage is all about the perceived placement of the instruments in a song. The RE0's have a narrow soundstage in that you don't perceive any of the instruments to be placed farther than a few feet back, though there is a soundstage it is just short and narrow. Some IEMs have terrific soundstage where the sound can be percieved to be coming from eons away and not just from left or right, but up or down and center. In this price-range there is normally a sacrifice to be made: either you get great instrument separation/detail and a small soundstage or you can get a bigger soundstage at the detriment to some detail. Gotta spend 100+ to get both (RE 262 at the closeout price of $100 is a good example of an IEM that has good detail and a decent soundstage, though there are better ones they just cost much more).
