Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread

Hi, how does the D Zero compare to the D-14? Thanks!

I have the D Zero MkII.  I only had the D14 for a short time and didn't care for the fit and finish of the amp, and didn't try it with the C3, or the A83's.  The D14 was a very nice sounding with my TF10's but a bit too much top end sizzle for my taste (this may have been due to the TF10's as well).  My main rig right now is the Centrance Mini M8 and the A83's and that is rediculously good.  The D Zero and the C3 price to performance ratio is exceptional.

I get it you used them together and are happy with the mix? The C&C has stellar reviews but I can't find it anywhere, online or offline. I was also drooling over the tiny COZOY Astrapi Mini Amp, but alas, it's not compatible with the Colorfly :frowning2:

The fioo e11k would be easy to find locally and cheap too. Thanks :)

I'm kinda known for not liking the C&C and C3 combo. I have used it a lot but the e11k definitely pairs better with the c3.

I just did a quick search. Here's one link (the BH2 is the same as the BH except with replaceable battery):

Btw, one of the things I like about the combo is that they are essentially the same size. I attach them together at the top using some 3M velcro stuff (can't remember what it's called), and then quite often clip it into my pocket (like you would a clip zip).

Thank you both, for the recommendations and the link.  My Colorfly hasn't even arrived yet so I still have some time to decide on the amp...

I can buy the fiio locally (no customs) for 40 euros which is a bargain so I'll probably go for it, even if I end up getting the C&C too.

I am actually using a Clip Zip these days and initially the new rig will seem huge to me anyway. I guess I'll be to excited to care though :p

The BH has only one advantage and that's battery life. The fiio is tighter and with better control. On  the other hand, the BH handles aggressive sound great wtiht its more mellow and musical presentation, especially at low gain. The funny thing is that I probably have way more hours with the BH than most people hyping it have, way beyond 10 thousand but still it's all about synergy and performance and overall e11k is better,

Well, one can use 3M dual lock but that doesn't change the fact that e11k is the better amp

Yeah, I've never heard the e11k, so I wasn't comparing the two. But you knew that :)

I like it a lot better than my e11, but I know the e11k is supposed to be better than the e11.

One thing I really like with the BH amp is the SF=on switch which seems open up the soundstage to my liking with a lot of my gear. You probably have a better description for what that switch does. Anyway, I found the e11 (and e12) to slighly close off the soundstage, so I prefer the BH with most of my closed headphones (my open headphones love the E12).

How does the e11k compare soundstage wise?

I'm sure I've already commented on the SF switch which acts as a crossover switch.

Apologies if I sound like an idiot, but are the fiio e11k and the fiio A3 the same thing?

Apparently
