How would C3 and Westone W2 sound together?

I haven't heard Westone 2 only Westone 3, 4 and 4R. They all paired well with C3.

Also, I noticed your thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/724084/colorfly-c3-vs-ipod-nano-6g

While I haven't heard Nano 6g I haven't heard an iPod yet that can beat the Colourfly, that includes 2g, 4g, 5g touch, iPod Video. iPod Mini, I pod Nano 1g, none of them sounds as clean as C3. I believe member d marc0 put is 5G touch away after hearing the Colourfly. Maybe ClieOS has heard Nano 6G.

That goes for area's like detail, timbre and instrument separation.

Basically in the sound department you can't go wrong with C3 though like we say constantly the UI is very basic.

(but more than usable)

Yes, the colorfly C3 sounds clearer than the iPod touch 5th gen, Iphone 4s, Iphone 5, and ipod nano 2nd/3rd/5th gen.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard the ipod nano 6gen.

I got the C3 in five minutes after my last post, seriously, Fed Ex must have been reading this

I began playing around with it out of the box(while charging it up on my PC), and it was a joke to set it up...really, what are folks complaining about here? It took under five minutes to go through the menus and set it up(in my case, normal on the EQ, mid level brightness for the screen, not much else needed futzing with really..). The menu system is just like all China mp4 players were like a few years ago, folder based and easy to get used to. Mucho thanks to all on this thread for all of the tips to set things up my microSD card alphabetically. I set up my card yesterday expecting my C3 today and all is working fine

This beast is also built like a tank, really solid, miles ahead of my Clip+.

I honestly like the sound quality over my Rockboxed Sansa Clip+....by a pretty wide margin actually. With both 320 based mp3's and 16 bit FLAC, the sound is full and rich, very neutral, the way I like it. The sound stage is impressively wide, it really is making the Brainwavz S5's I'm testing the C3 with sound awesome!! I also tried out my Brainwavz B2's with it briefly, also a good pairing. No amp, IMHO, is needed with the C3, it's plenty strong enough, with enough sound variations, to hold it's own. It's signature is really well done, cudo's to Colorfly for giving such good sound to us poor folk

As for foibles, so far only the tiny screen(the C3 is much smaller than I thought it would be....)is forcing me to get used to it, but I'm adjusting. It's plenty bright enough and at least I can read the song titles without my glasses, so all will be ok. Bass isn't overpowering, and true bass-heads might not like it too much, but as I'm not a bass-head, there's plenty here for me.

I'll update this as I go along, but so far so great!

Great! Really pleased for you dragon2knight. Should be a pleasant change from the Sansa unit. Good little investment indeed.

I can't believe this cost's so little, tiny screen and all I think it's worth quite a bit more than they are asking for it. And I honestly love how much better the Brainwavz S5's sound with the C3 over the Clip+, it's almost night and day. I thought that a Rockboxed Clip+ was as good as it got under $100.00....got proven wrong here today!

Like I've said: of all the Cowon's I've owned which were C2, D2+, S9, J3 none of them could outclass Colorfly in SQ, no mainstreamer DAP. Closest would be Sony NWZ-F806 Walkman but it doesn't have the detail or seperation. Hell, members have taken C3 over DX50 and I only think DX50 is better when amped.

Don't worry about the small screen and primitive ui too much. it becomes easy rather quickly. Enjoy the little beast it will bring you much happiness.
