Alright I took the plunge.  Found a good deal on eBay.  $179.95 with priority shipping.  I should have them by Monday.  I currently have the Momentum, 1R, UE6000, COP, L1 and the M-100's are should be here by Monday or earlier.  I'll share some impressions of these that seem to have no faults.

I only said they are not as comfortable as the my old Denon D2000, which are VERY VERY VERY comfortable, the K167 are just comfortable :)

Wait what? The k167's aren't as comfortable? Aw man. Now I have to keep looking again. I want some really comfy ones without ever wanting to take them off. But I guess they hurt after a while. Is comfort really that bad? I use the vmodas crossfade lp. The clamp is a bit tight, and after 45 minutes, the membranes hurt my ears, and then I get headaches and fatigue. Are they that bad?

This will be interesting, especially the M-100's. From what I've read so far, looks like the K167's are better than UE6000 and Momentum, but M-100 is other story. Look forward to hearing from you. Just burn them in for at least 24 hours before comparing to M-100, since bass seems to benefit alot from burn-in ; )

AKG 267 is now out in Denmark. I'm going to try and maybe buy them today. Just got a call from the store :)

Do they have a link? How much do they cost?

EDIT: Ok, saw them. 400 EUR?

Better import from the USA and save around 75 EUR (customs duties deducted + calculated $50 shipping).

Yes, they were.

harpie007's comparing them to the Sennheiser Momentum:

And one person said that they sound like a $500+ can and I agree. I was even being a bit more modest and saying $300+ ; )

From my experience, both brand have unique sound characteristic.
Depend on your taste & your musics, so you wont judge momentum inferior than K167.

Guess it has to be a lot about taste because I remember being very keen to see the Momentums available for demo at a market store and then I got quickly really dissappointed putting them on, I could only listen to them about 2 mins before I got way too bored. At the same time I for example found the AKG K272 HD that costed 129 EUR (compared to 329 EUR for the Momentums) which I didn't think I'd like at all, suprisingly I enjoyed those headphones a lot more than the Momentum. I was quite shocked myself. Compared to the AKGs the Momentums had very distant / hollow midrange and poor bass response quality (boomy, lack of texture) and poor soundstage. To me the Sennheiser HD25-II sounded like a significant upgrade in sound quality compared to Momentum, much better bass response quality, textured, tight, punchy and mids was a lot more forward and detailed. Momentum's midrange is really flawed, for a $300+ headphone I'd expect more than "mids are there" and at least a little detail retrieval.

I had the momentum's for a couple of weeks. I returned them because I found that the noise isolation wasn't very good, the sound was too "forgiving." The bass, while present and powerful, felt slow and almost echo-like to me. Also the soundstage was fairly small.

This isn't to say that they aren't very good headphones, and they look stylish as well. It's just that to me they seemed to bring poorly recorded tracks up to a better level and higher quality tracks down to a lower level at the same time.

They were also, imho, useless when trying to remix. The bass response is just too slow for me. I couldn't tell when a track was slipping until almost too late on more than one occasion. I have no such problems with the K167's.

I have had the K167's for 4 days now and I immediately noticed the high frequency detail vs the Momentums. I can also hear suble things more clearly (eg on recordings you can hear fingers sliding across acoustic guitar strings clearly and you can even hear the rebound off the bottom of a snare drum on jazz tracks). I guess revealing is a word you could use to describe them.

Of the headphones I've tried recently (and there have been some dogs), these are the most open, revealing, and comfortable. The sound isolation is great, I can drive them off portable devices. Most of my listening is done off a Macbook (native sound card), a Behringer mixer or a Hercules mixer. I can't notice an appreciable difference between the headphone out on the behringer vs the macbook.

As others have posted here, the burn in is dramatic. My first reaction was "great highs! Where's the bass??" But after a couple of days using and burning, the bass is very present, and as I said, really tight. This headphone is a winner for me.

I may get K267's eventually, but I'm really happy with these right now.

From these comments they seem to be inferior. But yes, there are tastes for everything.
