Hmm..I heard many thrash metal albums, they sound complete with my clipzip+MH1C only with FLAC tracks, 320 was just like missing a lot of notes(atleast quality was comparitively a lot less), and they are encoded well too. I tried with kreator- enemy of god, exodus- bonded by blood, megadeth - rust in peace and many more, they all sound complete with flac rather than with 320, it also due to thrash metal having the most riffs, beats, notes and nuances than any other genre so that we can differentiate the change easily...Didnt try other genres yet, but to my listening preference, FLAC gives a lot more quality and detailing than 320..

No, those beats, and riffs and notes don't mean that 320 is incapable of doing it as well as say a flac that has on average ~800kbps+.

They can sound better if those mp3's were not encoded properly(how would you know they were? You did them yourself?)

I normally download albums from the net so cant tell if those are encoded properly or not, but the albums I mentioned before, I own those retail CDs and I myself encoded them to 320kbps.I use Foobar 2000 to encode them to 320kbps. Ive downloaded a pirated release of the same to just check whether it was encoded well or not, and it indeed was fine. I use the same(foobar 2000) to rip them to flac and indeed there was a lot of quality difference..soundstage was full, drums and cymbals mostly are better reproduced(I like them most in my music)..mids and highs seems to be the same but a bit improved.

By the way, mad props to the guys at sony, who made the mh1's tips. I've been tip rolling for a while today and while I don't particularly like their suction seal on the mh1c, those tips are actually one of the things that make the mh1 sound so good. Too bad for the mh1c that they made my vsonic iems sound even better, especially the gr04 flagship.

My MH1 doesn't work at all on my Xperia phone.

Not even for playing music ...

Yeah I have mh1c and Xperia s and everything works fine, you must have the wrong version for your phone

I have strange issue, when I plug them to my iPhone4, my phone will lose sound in ear speakers, which is corrected after restart of the phone. I am using E17 now.
SQ wise I did like them but they are not as fast as BA’s

I can buy a GR07 Mk1 (they say MK2 isn't that much better) right now but not sure if I should. I definately get the FOTM mentality of comparing X cheap but very well priced IEM to Y very popular IEM and offering pro's and con's and differences but my experiences tell me that none the less, the very popular and much more expensive IEM is there for a reason. I know CLIEOS said that they are both very similar but not sure if I should "Waste" $150 on such an IEM such as the GR07?

I think it's a simple question of can you afford the gr07? Are they better overall than the mh1c? Yes. Are they 10 times better considering they cost 10 times as much? Hell no! If it's pure value you're after the Sony wins hands down.

Its the old story of diminishing returns.

Understood that gr07 is not 10 times better, but for better isolation and twice better SQ, I am more than willing to spend $150. now question is are they twice better ?
