It's actually Chinese and you don't need to understand it either . It's just the DAC and amp codes that you need to Google :D.

Haha that explains it.

Also I'm using my phone coz hotel internet sucks tonight, can't even connect with my laptop :/

BTT:
I think the XD-01 is a great DAC/Amp for the AK100. My unmodded AK has a use now!

Evening all.

I'm planning to pick up some HD 650s next week and I was wondering if anyone had tried pairing them un-amped with the stock AK100? And if so what the results were? I'm aware they don't tend to sound the best unless decently amped and I'm hoping the AK has enough welly :)

My was over the other day with his HD650 and i did not personally try the pairing but he didnt seem to over excited about the pairing. He preferred my Rein Audio X3 DAC (i know a lot more expensive) to Tube Amp BL-2 set up a lot better as well as his Samsung S3 to xDuuo XP-1 line out to Objective 2 (and and a few of my portable amps) were also preferable.

I will ask him for more details why but hes not really into the whole this is better 'because...." with all the lingo and is quite happy subjectively saying what he prefers.

I had an ear infection and could not try unfortunately!

I don't think the HD650's and the AK100 unamped is a good pairing. Not enough power and frankly, the 650's, imo, need to be balanced to really come to life. Either that or a powerful amp but I still prefer them balanced. Out of the AK100 directly, no.

Thanks Jamato,

I was already considering purchasing the International. If I'm not mistaken I could also then connect the 650s via a balanced cable?

While I'm asking, do you have any idea what kind of balanced cable I would need to connect the HD650s to the International? Sorry, I'm a touch clueless when it comes to connecting things :)

It's called a kobiconn termination, or something like that. If you tell the cable manufacturer that you need it ended for a alo rx or rsa sr71b, they'll know what you're talking about

You can have the stock cable balanced or buy an after market, with some costing much more than the 650's.

I am using HD600 via International and Green Line balanced cable. You need a balanced cable that connects to HD650/HD600 and has a Mini 4 Pin Balanced plug on the other end.

What IEMs can you guys recommend to pair with AK100 instead of UE Triple.fi 10? I really like sound detail on such a pair, but it has lack of dynamics and strange disbalance in frequency response.
