Well just been to the nurses to have my ears cleaned out.  Fun experience as the water missed the collecting jug and ended up down my left arm and leg, eew!  Still all nice and clear now on both sides for appointment on friday.

Cheers

It does not matter if the twin BA burn in or not, they are still directly effected by the bass and that is why I am holding of anything serious impression wise. As we stand the bass is nice yes, good Reach and rumble. The speed in mid bass is not currently the fastest and not touching BAs but is now slouch. I'm expecting change though but it is meant to be a bassy CIEM

As long as it's quality bass, it's all good! I'd be happy with a HY3 with great bass, clear mids and detailed and smooth highs! Nothing harsh or sibilant...

It is far from sibilant, i can tell you that much.

I'll be interested to hear what you have to say after you have had the chance to burn them in and listen a bit longer.

I was hoping in the HY3 for it to have good bass extension allied with something similar to the TF10's mids and trebles.

If the HY3 turns out to be a bass monster than swamps the mids and trebles, I fear that my first venture into CIEM's is going to be a dissappointment

Thats exactly my problem with the sennheiser IE 8, the bass is amazing but it kills everything else, I sure hope hy3 is not like that.

Lets not get hung up on the hy3 alone as cosmic ears do have other models available you know.  Just because the hy3 may not suit maybe one of the others would.  I'm quite keen on the triple ba model personally.

Cheers

Allright made my appointment to get some impressions done at wednesday next week. It cost only 19 euros which is about 25 dollars.

I will get the cheapest of the cheapest version first just to see if custom is my thing or not. In a while I'll probably upgrade. I hope I don't have to make new impressions. But on the other hand if the fit on the cheap ones are so-so then I wouldn't have wasted alot of money on more expensive ones and I can get new impressions.

Why are you guys freaking about this already, sonny mentioned several times it was just a rough impression.
Just wait!

+1

Impressions about headphones change with time the more you listen to it. First impressions may be 180 degrees opposite to final understanding of sound signature. Many believe in driver burn-in and there are also guys who believe in brain-in. So lets wait for a proper in-depth review. Just keep patience people.

Those first quick impressions maybe biased by impatience, wow factor, Christmas tree syndrome, shopaholic syndrome and so on. Remember that with high expectations comes big disappointment. Try to be neutral in your requirements and don't expect miracle from new CIEMs.
