Grr... I've got a one time use coupon from apple due to a mix up with my mac, and can get these on Tuesday for $386  total with tax and expedited shipping.  Staring at my cart, looking at head-fi, staring at my cart some more, looking at head-fi, etc...

Hey, if you end up actually ordering these, could you post a review? :) It would be appreciated.

Also that i am not bias.

Not picking on you but you should know that such a statement shows bias. We all have some whether we admit it or not. Sometimes it takes a few years to come to these realizations. Those that understand this actually tend to be better able to work past their biases and show less of it in their reviews. Exuberance and youth are great but not so much where bias is concerned.

Hmm, I know you hear the UERM differently, but I think sheer spaciousness isn't their strong point. Actually, my W4 offer a wider stage, albeit with slightly less depth. The UERM's separation and imaging, however, is stellar in my book. If the UE900 are able to share most of these merits, they'll be fierce competitors in the price range.

Thanks for sharing.  It is nice to hear a different thought on the sound (or have it reiterated) as not everyone hears things the same for some reason.  While I think the W4 has the widest soundstage of the Westone universal lineup, I didn't hear it as large in comparison with the similarly priced custom IEMs I compared it with, which aren't as large and 3D as the UE IERM to my ears.  I would love to sit down some day and try to figure out with you why we hear these things so differently.

As far as the UE 900; I don't want to speculate, but from what I have heard I think it will be a fierce competitor in the price range, and the imaging is great.

+1 We all have a bias some how Swim.  Even I do (some I'm aware of; others I'm not).  The main mission is to know of these biases (usually through a third party like Goodvibes, myself, or any other person for that matter) and fix them.  Your posts do show bias towards the 4.Ai (the tone and word choice used to describe them).  It's shown on the way you portray them.  It's fine to like something because you prefer it, but that's as far as it goes.  They may not be technically better.  For example, I prefer the sound of my Dunu Tai Chi over the PFE232 (crazy right?).  I know for damn well the 232 has much higher SQ than the Tai Chi.  The preferences tend to create our biases.  When you learn your biases, you also learn who you are better as well.

EDIT: like goodvibes, I'm not trying to pick on you.  Rather, informing you that I see this.  Many people do tend to become defensive or become mad when someone points it out.  It's in our human nature to do so.  These biases creep up into the things you write, and you may not even recognize it.  I explained a lot of these things that creep into writings in that one Aurisonics review (that got closed, then reopened I believe; not the impressions thread).

Back on topic...  I'm hoping to get a pair of 900s :)

I have already said that like everyone will always have expectation about a new product, i understand that people will have biases and because i love the 4.Ai so much, i will talk about in a style which can be hype, i am not unaware of that. When i said i am not biased i meant that i will not hype a product because a company sent it to me. That would be wrong.

I understand how all of these things work and i would not mind having a chat about the tai chi on the relevant thread now i have them.

Anyway, i am also hoping to get a pair of UE900s! I am very excited about them.

Heir Audio's 4Ai is 200$ cheaper and a few very experienced people have said that they are the best sounding universal iems they have ever tried...these will have to be absolute monsters to compete or they will be forced to lower the price. Looks real nice, though. Can't wait to read a review.

How are the Heir 4Ai $200 cheaper? I thought both these IEMs go for about $400 USA?

It's processing, delivery expected tomorrow or Tuesday with 1 day shipping (was only 12 bucks).  I guess if they finish processing it today before the fed ex pickup comes I'll get it tomorrow.  It said in stock so we'll see.  Currently I'm rocking the tf's, so hopefully I'll dig these, otherwise you'll see it in the FS thread soon.  Haahaa...

They are not but at the start of the release, only the Aussie website was updated at a price of $599.99 so everyone guessed then that the price would be the same in US dollars.

Is that a proprietary cable connection?  I guess I'm not surprised as the triplefi10 pins were thicker than Westone pins. Looks like $400 is the sweetspot for quad BA universals. Let the next round(s) of FOTM begin!

1 USD = .97 AUD.  So if you calculate it, they weren't too off...  So 600 AUD = 582 USD XD  But the price is still 400 USD.  Might be better to buy from US and have a trusted friend send them off

EDIT: unless UE/Logitech updated their pricing for either page.
