Tralucent Audio 1Plus2 IEM (Now With 'New' 1Plus2.2!) Impressions Thread

Did you listen to that album I linked you to earlier? :). Classical is another great genre to test out the dynamics of this IEM. It's insane :p.

Not yet. For most parts I've been testing tracks/albums I know well.

Tracks like:

Kina Grannis- Valentine:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=840NbiFF1zM

Maria Mena - (Viktoria album).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mAixHF927Q

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Paper Airplane
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-0drZqMdR4

Strong vocal presence and acoustic, Maria Mena has some symphony instruments in her tracks, that's where bass slam and dynamics stood out my first dose. I threw some modern pop at them which they soaked up easily not long ago. Dare I say pop music sounded like listening to a expensive 5k car sound system. :p (not far from it)

hey man, now you know why i feel do crazy about them, no comparison to V1, sorry to say this. it's one of rare IEMs when you stop comparing and dive into music listen, forget upgrade worries. one of the most musical IEMs that approaches high end speaker quality darn close.

Yeah mate, 1plus2 takes prizes over RDB+ v1, no question, Not much needs to be said on that.

the big test will be tonight when I lay down and relax for a few hours as I really like to zone out and focus on the music, eyes closed, laying down the whole 'expereince'

believe me mate, 1+2 never disappoints, even complex music makes sense on them, and if they failed on some stress testing so did many high end loudspeakers, i mean Bach church organ works where complex polyphonic and insane deep bass kills most of high end gear, it is impossible to reproduce proper churh acoustic of pipe organ, i listen to this in church from time to time and it drives me crazy, such wealth of music and emotionality no electronic can match.

IMHO the best gear is this which makes you forget about comparisons and upgrades and 1+2 is exactly this gear. i could not care less if there is another IEM because 1+2 is magic and all i need at this time. i can fully devote myself to music listen now.

Good luck trying to sleep. Then again when I do the same I'm usually not trying to go to sleep lol. You'll be analyzing and enjoying every nuance. The only IEMs that were really good at putting me to sleep on the other hand were the IE8 and MDR-7550 (that was a strange one as I never imagined falling asleep with such an awkward design lol).

Speaking of songs; if I could take a page out of Music_4321's playbook

, some tracks that I found myself enjoying and noting down for some reason whilst listening to the 1Plus2s:

Sarah Mclachlan - I Will Remember You

If you're a fan of Sarah Mclachlan I'd suggest the Freedom Sessions version of "Hold On"

In a similar vein, I was listening to Justin Vernon's "Easy" from his Hazeltons album last night and it was breathtakingly good.

Edit: I'm not sure on the quality of the audio from that youtube video, I'm getting some crackling and such but I'm not sure if it's just my computer acting up.

I love them all equally because: Michael Jackson was The King of Pop and Plastic Surgery (been my favourite white musician for maaaany years now); Madonna is The Queen of Pop and a fitness fanatic ("How to look 60 when you're 40"); and Justin Bieber is the King & Queen of Teeny-boppers (we've all been—or still are at heart—teenagers of the teeny-bopper kind).

I don't sleep when doing these "sessions" More simply lay there on my back concentrating on the music, dissecting it.

I never wear IEM's for sleeping or laying on my side. More just my "music zone", I find you can focus on sound more with no distractions.

lol does he really like Akon? Doesn't seem like the type :p.

I like Sara McLachlan's "Angel" song.  Have you ever heard Amy Grants "I Will Remember You". That's a very good song.

I randomly heard this song on the internet radio and got hooked :p

How could I forget Amy Grant! A classic.

I usually don't intend to fall asleep with an IEM either but the IE8 and MDR-7550 made me so comfortable I did lol.

How on Earth could I forget. Actually haven't got around to listening Michael in a while but again...how could i forget Michael?!! Sorry Music I wasn't accessing my 'inner grumpiness' well. And since we're all being honest - I may have rocked my head back and forth in a fluid motion to the sound of Justin Bieber over the radio. I may have even sung along....

For a second there I thought you had turned your back on IEM users on head-fi and moved to headphones but that is the MDR-7506 that i was thinking of...for a moment though I thought, sacrilege! I'm curious though - how is the bass on the IE8. It was a while since I last tried it so I cannot remember but does the tuning of the bass make a difference? And does it compare in anyway to the 1Plus2?

Well I think it's time I show you guys the real me. I hope you accept me for who I am. But that Bieber song was only a one time event.....I promise!
