hi guys, so I've had the S500 for almost a month now, and while I like how these headphone sounds, comfort is kinda an issue for me
would getting a pair of HM5 pad help with the comfort?
also I've been looking for a hardcase for these, would this case fit the S500 w/ HM5 pads?

thanks :D

edit : oh and one more thing, does the HM5 pads help with isolation?

Not sure about the hm5 pad though, but i have tried using ws55 pad which provide best comfort for me. But still my ear get sore after 2 hour use. (im wearing glasses take note) That case seems pretty bulky, i bought my case from ebay too, maybe you wanna check it out http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hard-Carrying-Case-For-AKG-K450-K451-K480-Q460-K480-NC-Headphones-/251337420393?pt=US_Rack_Cases_Hard_Cases_Bags&hash=item3a84e0ae69 . Fold flat conserve space for me. =D

well I've ordered the HM5 pads already, so I guess if that doesn't work for me I'll look into the ws55 pads
also thanks for the link Whaleshark, I think i've seen someone selling portapro hardcase with the same brand on a local store, hopefully they have those hardcases in stock :D

Haha no problem buddy. The link i sent you was the one im currently using. Well it offer good protection and less space (less hitting agaisnt the wall of the case) have use it for more than a year so far no issues. Keep in mind,hm5 is full ear. So comfort would be more better than a on ear pad like ws55. But it all comes down go personal prerence or  indivitual head structure. Might wanna wait for some other user to share their input on the hm5 pad. My jvc is just currently sitting home. As it isnt suitable for portable use for me. Weather was super hot here. Haha.

The wife has sewn a nice pleather drawstring pouch for mine, it works great and there picture back in the thread here. Sorry can't find it on mobile at the moment.

The HM5 pads are not portable friendly, super soft and comfortable but they are huge and require much fooling around to get them to stay on. I never bothered putting them on my S500's but they work perfectly on the Ultrasone's. :D

I run stock pads and like them, the WS55's are supposed to be the perfect replacement though.

Here we go sorry for the phone pics, mine have been off and on just about every headphone I have so the opening might be a tad sloppy.

Approximately 67mm Wide

Approximately 81mm Long

I really don't know, I have never done the mod as it is not portable friendly...

It would probably be whatever would fit snugly around the slot where the stock pad slides in. You'll have to measure it and see what is available at your local building / plumbing centre.

Oh,Ok. I'm not using as a portable headphone too, so might as well make it over ear. Since without the O ring does it fit for you?? Or its very loose? Like you stated earlier?

Sold my S500s/E17 to a co-worker a year ago - haven't listened to them for at least a couple years.

Just took a listen for a minute yesterday and I was stunned... they were definitely better than I remembered.  My daily setup = JH-Audio Roxannes w/ Concero HP.  Amazing budget setup.
