She never does this. But when i got home today she was gone. I searced the neighborhood for an hour and now i'm just sitting at home, hoping she will show up.. Someone opened the garage where she stays when noone's home. I don't know who did it, it must have been some stranger wanting to steal bikes or whatever in there... I'm just praying my dog will show up soon!!!

Bad enough, flasken! But sit tight and keep your answering machine on. If there was any identification on Freja, most people will get in touch with you as soon as they find her. But it's not going to feel good until they do, is it?

You're right.. I'm REALLY craving for her to get home soon cuz I have to go away in half an hour, for a couple of hours.

Do you have some good color pics of your dog? Posting lots of these around your neighborhood in as many places as possible can help alot. Include your phone number.

Having a good quality color picture of your animal goes a long way to helping people recognize it when it gets lost. Don't give up hope. Search your local animal shelters everyday, comb the ads of your local paper for 'dog found' ads. With some leg work, you can have your friend back.

When my dog gets loose, I don't worry about it getting lost, but what frightens me the most is the chance of some idiot running over him. (or some a**hole hitting him with a bat or something) I would beat the person to near death if that happened. But it was probably just out getting some fresh air, my dog always returns waiting on the front door step after a few hours.
Glad the cops actually did something useful over there Flasken.

Flasken: That happy ending brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye, and made my day. I have a dog too.

But get a lock for that garage. Or a guard dog to guard the dog

NICE!

Congrats bud. Similar thing happened to my dog a few years ago. We went to church, and left our dog outside, behind the fence. Came back from church. Dog didn't come. Called her. Nothing. I searched around, found her under a bush. Limping. Turned out her leg was broken.

Either she fell, or some jackass came onto our property and hit her with something.

Beagle, I have already bought a lock but just never used it. will now. About that other suggestion... Who will be guarding the guard dog??

I'm so happy my dog got home!! I like her twice as much now.

Gotta count those blessings and this definately adds to the figure..

andrzejpw,

If someone hurt my dog... I would crack their skull open!! Seriously I can imagine seeing people kicking it - I would have no control of my self, would probably kill those people or inflict serious harm to them

Reminds me of a story...

Several years ago, I was in LA introducing a new lighting line to electrical distributors. One of the places I was at stocked heavy-duty industrial stuff. We were in the stock yard (you know the type...lots of pipe and wire, 12 foot chainlink fence with barbed-wire at the top) and I noticed signs posted all over saying "Warning: Guard Dogs On Premises". Not seeing any dogs around, I asked the owner if they kept the dogs locked up during business hours. At that point, he kinda of looked at the ground and very softly said, "Somebody stole the dogs"!
