New DENON "Music Maniac" & "Urban Raver" Lines: D7100, D600, D400 & C300 Impressions Thread

Can anyone provide a comparison between the D600 and HD650??  I'm considering keeping my D600 as my home headphone and continuing to search for a basshead can for portable use.  I was thinking if I am just using the D600 for home use, then I am open to an open headphone (sorry for the bad play on words).
I still have my not sold HD650 and can tell you one thing they are very picky with pairing and unless you have a perfect match such as Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 for example they lacking subbass plus they are open they aren't suitable for outside use. If still want open headphones for home use you already know the answer HE-400

Interesting...

"You know what chafes my chaps? Makers who discontinue a perfectly good headphone and replace it with something inferior. Denon did it with the AH-D1001 when they replaced it with the very colored AH-D1100. And now they've done it again ... aarrggghhh! The AH-DX000 line has been discontinued and the replacements have arrived. Despite measurements to the contrary, the AH-D7100 highest treble octave seems to have gone missing, and the mid treble is significantly blurred by some of the most horrific ringing that I've seen in a headphone. The AH-D600 fairs about the same, and the AH-D400 is missing it's top as well. I tried to measure the in-ear AH-C300, but the ergonomics of the earpieces made it impossible to insert in my dummy head. I had the same problem with my ears. I'm going to have to add a :facepalm to the smily list. Big thanks to HeadRoom for loaning me the first batch through the door so quickly."

Might this so called "ringing" is what's I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong on the mids and specifically the highs? (this is discussion fom another thread -- Ultrasone signature pros --> http://www.head-fi.org/t/570388/ultrasone-new-announced-headphone-signature-pro/1260#post_8647678 )

HMMMM, well I decided to return mine.  I am shipping back today.  Not sure if I am making the right decision, but for $400, I expect something closer to my ideal listening experience for all genres.  If somehow the M-100 and Ultrasone DJs are sonic disasters, I might even repurchase the D600.

Well, now that the measurements are out, everyone who thought they sounded great will no doubt start hearing anomalies that correspond to the measured frequency response. This is due to "burn-in" of course...

LOL!
I don't think the measurements tell the whole story though... Personally, I don't find them as bassy as the freq. response suggests, but since the first time I put them on (Wednesday/Thursday last week) I noticed something "weird" about the highs... at least I don't seem to be the only one noticing it so definitely something is going on there. Other than that, I DON'T find them offensive, they just aren't better (to my ears) than the D5000 (which I guess was Denon's motive when killing the previous gen...)

Still, one or 2 weeks extra I'll have a "complete assessment" and decide whether to sell them or not!

My D7100 should arrive on Wednesday. Should be interesting to hear whether the poor measurement results coincide with audible flaws - especially when comparing them to something like the HD800, which measures almost perfectly as far as I know.
