A buddy of mine modded my T50RP's for me. BMF, you may know the lad, and maybe one of these days he will honour us with the details
"right about here ----> ****** <----" lol.

Anyway, I am no T50RP expert (I don't know what they sound like stock, or sound like in other modding configs). And I'm not very familiar with orthos except for my TDS16's. But, I felt the need to express my joy regarding these modded T50's. What a huge, bold, articulate and engaging sound. Just fantastic.

The T50RP's are amazing. You modsters are amazing. And my friggin' pair is really amazing!

Cheers!

Excellent news, WW!

Yes, I know who modified your set and he's a Master Modder.
I watched from the sidelines in awe of his determination and creativity.

Hearing from you is the final piece needed to appreciate his work.
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

About to start modding a pair. The stock T50RP earpds aren't thick enough and my ears touch the drivers, which is very uncomfortable after some time. Are the 840 pads thicker? It's hard to tell from pictures.

Seems to work great so far, this should scare a few less people away.  Thanks for doing that.

Need that for the ortho thread. I don't think anyones mad enough to tackle that one though.

Thanks BMF

nick n has a new mod that sounds fantastic.

Go to Post #1 and click on the Table of Contents link to his mod and my "take" on his config.

Cheers

Wow, very awesome of you to document the mods in so much detail! Wow.

Sfwalcer (A.K.A. “cardboard”) and waynes world for forcing me beyond my usual mod trials, putting me under pressure to pull something decent out of my hat, making me sweat and supremely stress over this which was what pushed it to the maximum.

LOL! We do what we can (from our armchairs of course) to stress out you modding geniuses as much as we possibly can!

Seriously though, thank you both many times over. As a result, I am blessed with a pair of incredibly amazing sounding T50RP's. I'm not sure if I deserve them (actually, I'm sure that I don't!), but I got them!

Thank you both again!

Thanks for the ToC in the first post. Total lifesaver! So this Paxmate dot you are making on the front of the driver is for dropping/taming the treble, right? This is similar (if not the same - considering it was your idea) to the Dog Treats for the Alpha Dog I assume.

I'm not sure what adjective to use to describe the effect of what I hear from the BMD. "Smooth?"

Whatever, it does it without killing the treble details... FWIW, IMO, YMMV, etc.

Tip o' the hat to nick for an awesome mod.

One person was slagging off T50RP's in the show your rig thread on the basis that the square-ish planar unit makes the treble sound bad no matter what mod you do.
Guess he needs to hear Nick's mod.....

T50RP treble can be kind of weird and hard to get just right, but you can absolutely make the treble sound quite good with certain mods.
