I can't do it - I hate having hair in my eyes.

Yeah, but when you are back from the concert you can dye it brown and be Wolverine come Halloween. It's win, win really.

I'm feeling a good bit better now, more or less I'd unplugged from the interwebs and ignored everything that wasn't absolutely crucial (like family and a few basic money decisions) and relaxed. It was nice. I guess I hadn't realized how much pressure I apply to myself with all my projects and interests and that's something I'm in the process of changing. The 16 hour days have to stop and get cranked down to 8 hour days like "normal" people (the doctor's term, whatever that means). At least I can now keep food down and I'm not constantly running a low grade fever, also my RA has stopped flaring, which means I no longer feel like all my joints are broken, which makes me generally more pleasant to be around. heh

Find of the month here, "Vader" seats for my E46 M3, salvaged from a totaled E36 (moment of silence). Will look wicked with the rest of the black interior and they're some of my favorite seats to sit on too, extremely comfortable and supportive.

Awesome! You got the whole deal as well, not just the fronts.  I damn near bought a pair last summer for converting to office chairs. Kind of regretting letting them pass as they were a bargain.

RM auctions has an interesting auction lineup for Monterey, but there's one thing that really caught my eye, the Reventón. There were 3 of them in particular that are very unusual, and the one up for sale is one of them. See what makes it special?

I've been a good boy lately, saving my nickles, might have enough in the piggy bank for that.

The 250 LM rather blinds me to anything else there on offer.

Horrified to see what it will fetch.

I'm guessing in the $18-20M ballpark, according to recent sales. It's doubled in value in 8 months.

I could have bought a very clean 250LM for $5M 3 years ago, I was an idiot.

The 250 LM remains my favorite Ferrari of all time in the looks department. It's so beautifully simple.

On another note, have RM and Sotheby's always had a relationship with each other? I didn't realize they conducted joint auctions (or are under the same ownership, perhaps?).

Yes. I saw what the last one went for.  New auction record mania may drive this one into GTO territory.

Idiot perhaps, but really who knows when a car is going to spike in value?  If you can take the histories of all the high hitters and work backwards you may be able to create some bayesian model for future predictions.

On another note, and perhaps in the idiot vein myself. Has anybody here ever listened to the ATH 908? I picked up a pair of these for 5 bucks at a thrift shop, because well, how could one not by AT's for 5 bucks.
I am really shocked these things are all but unkown. For a 99 dollar phone they do remarkably well and probably would KA with a little simple modding.

Very glad to hear you are feeling better brother! And yes, I think we have been conditioned to work too hard & work through pain, even when their is no need to do so. Really seems silly when you step back and think about it...

Can you imagine spending 24 hours inside that 250 LM moving at speed? I'll beat it is very loud, the firewall behind your head is scorching hot, and it probably vibrates like the divorcee's best friend.
