Okay. I got my Futuresonics Atrio's M5 with the MG7 drivers  from Atrio.me just yesterday and immediately I was not very happy about the eartips. They beige foams feel like sand paper after several insertions and I am not too fond of dual flanges. I had and extensive amount of tips from Monster earphones and some Radio Shack Auvio eartips so it was modding time. :D

What I did was to find the dual flange that didn't fit my ears and cut the flanges off. Next I took that tube piece and slid it over the earphone stem and it made it wider. Now I can use some of the monster tips, particularly the gel filled tips on my Atrio's and also the Auvio hybrids. They fit really snug and tight. It takes a few minutes to get them to slide on the stem but it can be done. The monster foam hybrids I could not slide right away as it was too snugged but it can be done if you have more than a few minutes.

I have not experience in sound since I got the earphones yesterday so I can't really compare on before and after sound. But the comfort is amazing now!!!!

Just take an FS foam tip and remove the foam to reveal a clear plastic tube inside. Voila! Use this as the perfect spacer for monster and sony tips.

Another problem solved through the miracle of Kunlun, source of all knowledge.

Thanks for the info, stripping down the foam tips sounds like a no fail job. I cut off the stems of a triflange i had, and i didnt get as clean of a cut, got a slightly slanted stem. Does the job well tho, but just kinda looks a bit ghetto when compared to a clean cut stem. I will definitely shave off some foams i have. buzz buzz

Yep, and you can strip out the clear stem from the foams and use those as well to fit other tips.

Seems to me it's the second hand source of all knowledge.

Ah ha! There you speak the truth unknowingly, for the great Kunlun indeed has TWO hands!

Hoist by your own petard, sir.

When you cut the dual flange section to fit the stem what you want to do for a better fit is turn the core around and insert the part that has the rough cut toward the back of the base of the earphone and press it hard to make it flat. By doing this, the part that goes inside your ear is factory made and looks and feel like it was made that way.

Edited: The hybrids are Radio Shack Auvio and not Sony.
