PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread

I've gone though a lot of higher end stuff, up to the HE-6. Most of those are on sale or I've traded away, but I'm keeping the PX100-ii.

For the price point, I'm perfectly happy with the little Senn. For me, the more expensive something is, the pickier I become. I have higher expectations of it, then start to listen for technicalities instead of listening to the music. At that point, I'm not really enjoying the music anymore... so what was the point?

which amp do u use with ur Q701 and DT800? px100 ii powered with e7 is great...

Q701:   Matrix M Stage or Fiio E09K + E17

DT880/600 Ohm:     La Figaro 336C or FiiO E09K + E17

usually I use the PX with E17 or iBasso D12

BTW, I bought the PX after trying out a few "budget" headphones, the only "budget" phones that I thought were as good as the PX were the Grado SR-60i

Cheers!

Dear goodness, just got the Momentum. While I really like the sound, especially for being a closed headphone, I like the PX100-II just as much.

PX100-II + over Momentum:
Slightly less bass uncovering other frequencies better.
Just a bit more airy/open in sound.

Momentum + over PX100-II:
Ever so slightly fuller/richer in tone.
Smoother treble.

Other than those main (yet still relatively subtle) differences, they both have the lovely Sennheiser sound. LOVE the Momentum's design.

my friend bought akg k420 so he offered me to exchange px100 ii with his k420... sadly i did as i wanted to listen other brands too..(missing them already :frowning2: ). i m so addicted to px100 ii... akg sounded bright and fun factor was low ... soundstage was too less in comparison to px100 ii.. ppl call px100 ii's mids muddy.. well then they will die when they will listen to these.. last they r bit uncomfortable for me .. so just waiting for my px100 ii to come.. hope he doesnt like px100 and gv it to me today itself..

How much do the px100s leak? I'm considering getting a pair since I don't have a portable headphone right now.

They are open back headphones, if you are sitting next to someone on the bus, they will hear "buzzy" sounding music.

But they are ultra comfortable and ultra light.

So how do PX100ii compare to PX90, in terms of sound? I realize the build quality is completely different, I just want to know about the sound.

So the MDR-1R came in today. So far, I really like the design and feel of these. Even though the forks are plastic, it's a smooth/polished plastic that actually feels quite nice while keeping it light. Comfort is in an entirely different league than the Momentum. Definitely one of the most comfortable I've worn, up there with the AE2. Awesome. Comfort: check! Sound: pending (finger crossed).

Started up some music, and they sounded just wonderful. Unfortunately, that was only the intro to the song. Once the bass kicked in, I was deeply saddened. So close, Sony, so close... but you seriously screwed it up.

I'll either write a Momentum vs MDR-1R comparison, or I'll just add snippets of them into this review. Not sure yet. All I can say, is the PX100-II has no threat.

I only ended up with the PX90 because at the time they were half the price of the PX100ii. I did like the original PX100.

i would say px100 ii sound natural, bass response is better, soundstage is amazing with my fiio e7... px90 lacks naturalness.. and many thing ... but if u like ur px90 nothing like it...
