No issues for me. These things continue to throw out a great sound. I initially had the stock mediums and changed to the Sony Hybrids and now I have to large original tips on there. The hybrids take some of the high end detail out of the equation which I started to notice after I changed back to my oem tips.

@Dyjon54. .Sorry man don't have the alphas anyone here have the alphas and the CKM50s for a bit o comparison?

What is your source? I only hear the hiss when no music plays, and when I pause the songs, I hear a hiss for a few seconds before it disappears. And sadly, mine is becoming an issue, guess it's defective. *Sigh* and waiting for a week. Now I hear a signal on my right tip again on my pc.(MISTAKE, it was because of my rezound getting charged by usb, disregard that comment.) However, the signal noise was annoying, it didn't damage drivers, did it? -Compared it to a bose ie2, THE BOSE WAS MUDDY AT EVERYTHING, but I could at least hear the balance, just horribly compared to the livelier and crisper ath-ckm77s- I don't have the bose, but auditioned it with my friend's bose, played I feel fine -  The beatles, and DANG...ath-ckm77s spanked it badly. I agree with the great sound comment.

I get the same with all my IEMs whenever I plug them into a phone, so it's not their problem.

Thanks for your answer, got it now. ALSO: Weird noises/static/whining is natural? It won't damage drivers at all?

That I don't know. I'm still hearing it though. Best I could think of is buying a cheap amp to filter it out. I'm rather hesitant about buying the E6 because kiteki says that it actually adds hiss.

Someone explain something. I was listening to my CKM50s then put on my Denon D2000, and I felt like something was missing from the Denons, I think its the mid-bass hump, can someone confirm? And can anyone do a SQ comparison between CKM-50 and D2000, regardless of soundstage. I'm confused.

gotcha, thanks, I will risk E6 sometime.
DOES anyone know if static noises, whining noises, or any type of noise that is interfered will damage drivers?

I tried Sony Hybrids on them last night. I felt like they brought out the mids a little and widened the soundstage at the expense of some treble and clarity. I kind of like them on there. More comfortable too.

Does anyone know where to pick up replacement tips from A-T? I lost the box with my small and medium tips before I got a chance to fully audition them. I looked on the A-T website and poked around a little on Amazon and couldn't find them. I'm kind of a purist for using OEM tips.

Wait, you threw out your box with the tips in them? Hmm.. Sony Hybrids are the closest but they do change the sound just a bit. There is a replacement tip it says for the CKM50s . Some white ones in medium. http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Silicone-ATH-CK1-ATH-CK6-ATH-CKM50/dp/B001G4DUZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328849884&sr=8-1

I don't know about mid bass hump. It might be how the sounds are layered in the CKM50s. The Denons have much wider stage and the mids even more recessed.. Compared to the Denons the mids on the CKM50 might actually sound somewhat forward.. That might make it seem a bit different. Maybe a bit fuller sounding?

Hiss and static don't damage earphones. It's the QUIETEST sound an amp can produce, how can it damage anything?

Got my CKM50 today from amazon in pristine condition. Sound is indeed detailed and spacious, but with more bass than I like. It almost sounds like listening to a (small) subwoofer in a room exciting room modes, I understand what Dsnuts means now :D Perhaps such an effect is done by having a sharp peak in the bass response rather than a hump, just idle speculation at this point though. Will have more information when I go home and play some sine sweeps. In any case they sure sound interesting, it's too early to comment beyond that for now.

@Priest, I don't use the stock tips so maybe we can arrange something. PM me if interested
