V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Getting a quite nice salary tomorrow so my purse is getting ready! OK I will still need to hear some good feedback first though but I have a good feeling M100 won't disappoint, too many people involved and giving feedback etc so all this info should result in a rather good, slightly on the bassier side of neutral all-round headphone.

This wait is truly agonizing...

You have all the info I have.  I could attempt to read between the lines.  However, as Val was kind enough to reply to my post, I don't think it would be fair for me to speculate.  If a  slight delay is a price that needs to be paid for quality control and consistency, I would be okay with that, even as badly as I would like the smooth sound and cushy circumaural cups of an M-100 wrapped around my ears.  (Yes, I need to get a life!)

It sounds like we will know more after the whirlwind media blitz surrounding the Vamp launch settles down.  I can't imagine the multitasking juggling act Val has to pull off right now.

Couldn't agree more. They can take as much time as they need to perfect the M-100. As much as I would love to have those cans today, I'm perfectly fine waiting for the best product V-MODA will deliver. It's reassuring that they're spending a lot of time fine-tuning their final product. Gotta love that in a company.

What sources are you guys gonna use with the M-100? I'm set with a Digizoid Z02 from an iPod Classic, just in case I'm in the mood for MOAR BASS

Just found out about these - how is v-moda known for their isolation/sound leaking? How about their EQ? What is it like?

I like the style - but I have to say, I'd like a stronger looking headphone - could someone point out to me some reviews for the next one down from the M100's (M80's)? How will the M100's stack up against it?

Also, any images yet for them?

@BRSxIgnition

I have the LP2, which is similar to the M100 externally.  I don't have problems with it leaking much, and I wear it during my morning and afternoon walks down a busy road.  I only hear vehicles when they are less than 20' away from me, with the volume half way up.  I don't know how strong you expect, these things are pretty durable... Perhaps you should watch the video of Val tossing a pair around a room with marble floors?

Go ahead, treat any of your other headphones like that, and let us know how they hold up. :wink:

As for how they look, very similar to the LP2, but they have the added hinges.  Look around, about 10-15 pages back... There should be some pics where you can see the hinges (and the new hard case that comes with them).  I'm happy with my LP2's, and the M100 is essentially supposed to be a big brother to the M80 (which is supposed to sound better than the LP2), with more bass.  I wasn't interested in the M80, as it is too small for me (ear cup size, I hate on ear headphones).

If the Amazon seller who I bought a pair of dud PRO900s from would kindly stop trying to emulate a money-eating goat, I'll be getting a pair of these on launch date and I'll write a review.

I'm really excited about these. I'll have my HD598 and my Fiio E9+E7 combo for home and studio, and I'll have a fantastic portable can that works well with i-Devices to boot, and probably even better with an E7 without desperately needing it. :3

does it need an amp to sound better than the m-80? i understand this was asked already but its a real pain to navigate through all of these pages for the answer.

I actually want to know this too...  Everyone kept on going back and forth, and when the final decision was made...  Well, I didn't know when the final decision was made, that's the problem :p
