OK listen up folks.......the pops and clicks on the DX100 has continuously bugged me and experimenting for the last couple of hours I have managed to totally eliminate them
wink_face.gif
even on shutting down and switching the screen on!!!

This will only work for people who have installed the GO Launcher EX,  hurry up and install it!!!

On this launcher when you press the apps page, it has three menus on the top....ALL - RECENT - RUNNING.

Swipe to the RUNNING page on the right and you will see a list of running apps. All these apps are utilizing memory and battery which is better served for the music player especially playing 24/96 and 26/192 whose memory utilization is huge.

On each individual app, press and hold, and 4 options come up........press LOCK. This will lock up the app. indefinitely until you need the app. in which case you unlock it and use it normally. When you have locked the apps. up, even after reboot they are still locked - so not necessary to repeat this process.

Make doubly sure that apps. like google play is locked and anything related is a major culprit! Once you have locked all the apps besides the stock music player, the DX100 will be pop free!!!

.

If you do hear a pop again, go to the Running page and you should see a new app. that has just opened itself.......LOCK it. After you have performed the above,  look forward to enjoying a pop free musical experience!!!

The difference between locking and closing the app. is after you have closed the app. it will open itself again after a period of time and therefore the pops and clicks appearing again. The stock browser does not allow you to lock apps. hence, the necessity to install the GO Launcher EX

As a side note, once every app. is locked, the quality of the player seems to have improved as well
L3000.gif
with even better separation and soundstaging!

Have fun all and here's to no more clicks and pops

I thought locking them made them run at all times and prevented them from being forced quit.

Perhaps that prevents the clicks and jitters from happening because they are already loaded into memory.

I really have no ideas how it works but the clicking and pops has stopped for me and overall making the listening experience much more enjoyable on the DX100.........

If one has already installed GO Launcher EX, no harm trying and report findings. It doesn't take long to lock all the apps., just a few minutes.

Been listening near an hour now, besides one solitude initial pop, no more thereafter...............

This is pretty much what I have found is that if I keep back ground task killed I can get great responses out of my DX100.  I have just been watching my task and rekillling what is not wanted.  Locking them out would even be better. Tonight I will have to get myself this lanucher.  I did once and did not understand what it was presenting to me but maybe I should take the time to figure it out.

I was just listening to Annie Lennox "No more I love you's".......

It is an experience on the DX100.....the soundstage just gets bigger and bigger, absolutely fantastic, not the best of recordings but the layers is continuously added as the song progresses and the imaging is rock solid.

I remember when this song was first released in the 90s, my home system of Krell KPS 20iL > Krell KSA 300 cabled by Yamamura Churchill M5000 i/c and speaker cables, Wilson Watt/Puppy 3/2 made a complete mess of this song!!!!

So,does the hiss of DX100's phone output really get recessed & more quiet after full-burn in?

My friend & I feel this suggestion is too good to be true....

I assess that the hiss if from impedance mismatch instead of lack-burn in capacitor.

Don't have the DX100 myself, but i wouldn't rule out the capacitors so quick. Anything that effects sound may be a contributor to hiss, so something not being burned-in may be a culprit, though I doubt this would be the case because iBasso would have noticed such an effect given that all capacitors start this way, so they would've encountered it when developing the DX100. But still, always a possibility.

This is just what I wanted and I can see this as my bedside, work and flight-hotel rig.

Is the OS smooth as say iOS5? Not in a heartbeat.. its notchy and does make some clicks but not enough to annoy me and only when you unlock the screen..(so far)  But if you just like sitting back and listening to music from beginning to end, the DX100 is "sweet as".

IMO I wouldn't think this is my goto device for doing my banking, emails or playing Angry Birds (sorry HiFlight)

Listening to Tord Gustavsen Trio atm with my P5s... very happy

Where can I get some hi-rez backgrounds for the DX100? I tried to use an iphone one and it had me resize it even though it fit perfectly on the screen. :frowning2: Anyways, the sound is amazing and it's getting better day by day. I have a review in the works coming XD

I believe the display on the DX100 is 480x800 (or in reverse order of that). Just take the image you want, and crop it to those dimensions.

Just thought I'd contribute a brief summary of my experience thus far as a new DX100 owner.

The DAP arrived last night, and this morning I had a change to try it out for the first time. The packaging is rather minimalistic but luxurious, and there's a certain pleasure in opening and closing the textured case, feeling that magnetic clasp lock. The unit itself is nicely built in my opinion; it has a certain "90s tech" aesthetic in its brick-like shape that I find endearing. Holding it in one's hand, it feels substantial but not so large as to be cumbersome. The touch screen seems responsive, and despite my general dislike of touch-screens, I'm not bothered by it. The UI seems to be the player's weak point, though it hasn't given me too much trouble thus far. Connecting to my wireless network was straightforward, and the wireless connection is proving to be solid. Connecting the DX100 to my MacBook was likewise a simple procedure. Unfortunately, I quickly ran into the issue of tags and artwork not being fully transcribed; the result is a rather unorganized collection of tracks on my DAP.

In terms of sound, the DX100 is immensely pleasing to my ears. My favorite combination at the moment is with the Fostex TH900, and the resulting sound from these two components is on the level of a true reference system in my humble opinion. The DX100's amp seems capable of driving with authority, all the while retaining subtleties and nuances. It seems well-balanced and transparent enough to allow the unique colorations of various headphones to come through distinctly. Additionally, I connected my Final Audio Piano Forte IX earphones as a means of detecting background noise; of all the listening devices in my position, these are perhaps the most prone to hissing. To the DX100's credit I only detected the faintest trace of it.

The quietude of this DAP pleases me immensely. At the same time, it's quite powerful. It can be both a hammer and a gentle caress when the need arises.

Overall I'm satisfied thus far.
