I'm sure I saw a post in one of the threads here on Head-Fi, a few weeks ago, that showed a size-comparison of the DX100 with the Nintendo DS etc., but I am struggling to locate that post. Can anyone point me to it? I think it was a 3D schematic, not a photograph.

IF the DX100 will fit nicely into a Nintendo DS case, then these look like reasonable options for the DX100:

I can't quite tell if this one is viable for the DX100:

If anyone else has other suggestions, please do post a link, as I haven't yet made a decision on what case I'm going to get.

Wow that's a pretty inflammatory statement. Are you suggesting that we cancel our orders and look to the studio V as a replacement. Something tells me emotions are running high here. Let's all take a deep breath. It will sort itself out soon enough.

Well there was a misunderstanding so hopefully things will be on track. But I won't retract my statement on the Studio V being that good. It seriously is that good .

Can't get into it here, as it's off-topic, but I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I'm not referring to denying negatives at all. I'm saying 'positive' and 'negative' don't even exist - they're arbitrary figments of a conditioned chain of cognition.    BUT, since we are all conditioned in such an unfortunate manner, it is, at the very least, more resourceful to choose to focus upon 'positive' aspects of any dualistic perceptions of an encountered situation in life.

Thanks for providing such a wonderful live example here. When you say "Can't get into it here, as it's off topic..." then you proceed to "get into it here and way off topic". I really don't mind you get into it and be off topic, I just think we should call it for what is and not be saying one thing and do another. Don't you think?

Again, if you are focusing on only positive to the exclusion of all negatives, you are denying negatives, and let's call it for what it is.

If you are saying both positive and negative don"t exist, they are merely figments of somebody's imagination. I would agree that you could argue that to a certain degree but that is too reductionistic in explaining life events. We cannot just reduce all human sufferings into figments of conditioned chain of cognitions, or dualistic (actually should be dichotomy) perceptions. We cannot just tell rape victims, abused victims, war veterans, starving and emotionally neglected children, holocaust survivors, and persecuted victims that their pain and sufferings are not real, it's just pieces of cognitions and perceptions that can be ignore at will. As soon as we attempt to reduce human experience to metaphysical concepts of cognitions and perceptions, we lose our connection to one another as human beings and their suffering.

I am way off topic and I call it as such.

So the sound quality of the DX100 must have been a major disappointment to you.

No it hasn't but I could easily live with the Studio V and not have the DX100. While the DX100 is a better sounding DAP overall, is not a night and day difference when it comes to music enjoyment that is. Now considering I got my Studio for half off and paid about $500+ more for the ibasso. Its really subjective to say if the price difference is worth it or not. Now for the UI, build quality and features it really does help in that decision. But going just based on musical enjoyment, not so much... To be honest I will be using the Studio V far more than I'll be using the DX100. Once I get my custom IEMs from heir, that may change, or even push me to get rid of it depending on how well the 8A's synergize with the V.

Lossless files should, per definition, be lossless so no audible differences at all. I'm all FLAC, partly because I'm an open source geek and partly because I don't own (And never will, but that's another story) any Apple products.
No matter which format you prefer, I highly recommend dBPoweramp for ripping and converting your files. Then add Mp3Tag for all your tagging and artwork needs and you'll never need any other software for tagging or converting your music files

It appears this works with Windows only. Any good mac programs that can convert to FLAC? I have tried a couple but they were hard to implement.

As much as I like my Mac, I always find it much easier/faster to edit, tag encode and rip my tracks on windows.
