Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

I dont think the weight of lcd-3's are an issue for me. I have always laid down to concentrate to my music and this probably helps.

I have no idea how I started to listen in this way but i have been doing it for years. I lay on my bed with eyes closed to really listen attently.

My Audeze's are my prized possesion. If there were a fire in my house and I had to go back in and save some things I would choose my partner, my ageing cat and my lcd-3's. Dont ask me to choose one!

Today, I've realized I've got one but HUGE complaint about the LCD-3

They are consuming all the time I had before for my other hobbies, even some sleeping time !

No kidding! These cans are just over the top. I wanted to get some hours on them before commenting and each time I listen to them it is just another revelation. I really just cannot emphasize how much of an improvement these are over the LCD2.2s. And I thought those were pretty darned good too. I can only imagine how they might sound on some of the really esoteric amps and dacs these guys talk about on the forum. But the Schiit stack I have them on (Mjo/Gu) are really nice. I don't detect any aberrations to speak of as far as forward instrumentals, treble tilt, muddy bass or anything at all. And no need to crank it up to get at the details like I found myself doing with the LCD2.2s at times. Just crazy beautiful accurate detailed punchy imagery with an actual sound stage. I have no doubt at all the HD800s are awesome as well but now do not really feel an overwhelming need to audition anything else at least right away. I am however definitely looking forward to getting the Silver Widow cable to try them with.
It's all good...

Just ordered the LCD-3 and Mjolnir amp. Grabbed an Anedio D2 last month and i'm hoping that everything works well together.

I'll be sure to post my thoughts in two weeks when everything is in!

Cool that's great, could you perhaps upload the graph of your LCD-3 to see if it's changing lately, pleaseeeeeeee.

Thanks

^ Great photo!

Thanks! Not enough time in the day for everything to do and listening too... Nice problem to have I guess. Thanks to everyone in the thread(s) contributing info on these cans. They really are all that.
