Building all this in, is going to be interesting ^o^

Why not just get a hyper 212 cooler? They go on sale here in the states for $20 all the time, and keep my Xeon ivy bridge running around 35C when idling about and 45C or so during load (though I haven't done too many intensive tasks with it since I upgraded to it :/)

Project-IA progress for today....

The controller is still.... non-existent so I fitted a dummy-controller.
I need to flip switch 4 , wait at least 1 second, and flip switch 2 to power on safely. LOL

I'll probably make a less-dumb controller tomorrow and make it the the meet the day after.

Hey deadly. Any other enthusiast things you recommend?

I know you do a lot of enthusiast stuff.

Im getting into fancier shaving blades and stuff right now. But its always good to be enthusiast about stuff

Nice, what kind of Razor did you get?  Make sure to get a blade pack with a variety so you can find the one that works best for you.  Get a record player! That's my latest kick, love going to flea markets, and thrift shops to hunt down new ones.

Open or closed?
I'd recommend some DT770s and a nice FIIO portable amp to go with it.  Or open maybe AD700s, a lot of people hate on them, but I personallly love the sound signature on them.

Um... he just said home use and likes a bit of V-shaped sound.
don't think he knows the difference yet. :p

Haha, yea probably closed than if using at home, locks in sound better.  I really think the DT770 is a great headphone.  They are comfortable and have a pretty good sound signature, it is V-shaped.  Nice punchy bass, good highs.   You can pick them up for about 170$, then with the extra money pick up a FIIO to give them the extra power they need.  That's me .02$, sure the others with a little more experience can offer better advice!  Also if he's going to be using strictly for the computer, he can pick up a nice desktop amp, like the Audio Engine D1, which also doubles as a DAC.

If it's v shaped, then what csirus said is a good start. Oh and make sure to look carefully for the lower... impedance (?) one. 32 ohm I believe.

It's a bit hard to say since prices may vary considerably in HK...
And I sorta skipped the $250 price bracket...

W00t, stax finally came in to my Japanese proxy. 1880g later, 1200 yen domestic plus 4050 yen international shipping was just about what I was expecting. Now time for stax by the time I get back from California!
