I used to put 6 spoons of sugar in my coffee, but never stirred it.
Used to taste very strong and the flavours were a joy.
As i got to the bottom of the cup the sweetness was a joy to experience.

I have gone off the sugar now, as I just like the coffee taste by itself.

Had an affogato once. Ice cream never tasted so good..........

Yeah when I was working in mornings it was latte with 2-4 table spoons of sugar I did once accidentally poor half the sugar contained in my flask and it was really nice but the sweetness got to my taste buds afterwards and it tasted like a bird just shat in me mouth. I don't stir either, bit of sweetooth I am.

Wanna try an affogato now you'v mentioned it.

Btw are you into anime/manga yourself or something?

@DeadlyLover: why do you need $800 worth of transistors? What do you do for a living? First a $500 soldering station now $800 worth of transistors? Da fak.

Nope, Astroboy is as far as I got. I only come here to keep tabs with Deadly who lives less than 200 metres from myself and we have never met..

As Regards the transistors, they're expensive because they don't produce them any more.
They're for building electrostatic amps like the DIYT2 and KGSSHV.

Why don't you guys meet up?

Yeah I know, but $800 worth of transistors? Unless Deadly is continuing on his incomplete Diy T2.

lol just get over there and have a drink or something, seriously.

Designers should really just stop using discontinued or rare components, it's a stupid thing to do.
The only logical reason I can think of is that they're trying to increase the production cost so it seems better.

Lies. I only buy capacitors made from the woven hair of miniature space hamsters coated with Kryptonite and rolled by political prisoners in North Korean gulags. It gives my electronics a much bigger soundstage.

Yup, I noticed that too.

Was actually asking for that "stack of doujin CDs"... as M3 just happened recently

Ah, yeah, that stack is from M3.

I just told the guy to buy me random CD's to support the doujin industry.

You can use substitutes, but the reason why we use these discontinued transistors, is simply, because they are the best for the job. Also, the part was easily available when the design was made, it's just that the part quickly went EOL a year after, with no warning. It's not like it was designed to use rare components.

Are you probably going to notice an audible difference between the two? Probably not, but we use parts with better specs anyway because if we're putting time into making an amp, you might as well make it the best you can.

What's an extra $20 or $30 on an amp that's probably going to go over the $1k mark?, nothing at all, really.

I don't DIY to save money on making things that are 'good enough', I DIY to make great things, even if all my extra effort doesn't make a difference at the end of the day.

The problem is this.
The transistors were manufactured originally for CRT tubed TV's and monitors. When LED and plasma tv's and monitors took over, there wasn't the demand for the transistors.
The TV's and monitor circuits needed very low internal capacitance transistors to work properly. i.e below 15pF. (picoFarads)
There are high voltage transistors that can handle the output current, but their internal capacitance is much higher. This DOES affect the sound.
Unless there is enough of a demand for low internal capacitance transistors to justify production, we will have to keep searching for old stock.

BTW, there are a lot of fake parts out there that have been re-branded and are a total failure to use, and can cause an expensive repair bill.

It was the results on some stupid poll, it shows that mainstream anime watchers just favour whatever that's new.

Yea the polls are stupid...

Apparently there are too many hardcore Mikoto fans around

Well in France, the french government subsidize universities a lot. And yeah, I find it amazing that it only costs around €200 a year.
So I'm quite fortunate to be in a French highschool and will be studying in France next year. It will remove a lot of burden on my parents shoulder in terms of tuition costs.

Yep....... Its bad for us here
This. lol

So
Many at UW

His family and him work in a type of government contracting for a country.

He can tell you more if he wants.

To be honest I don't find her special...
