Although I might go with Sandy Bridge and OC the hell out of it. Might to the same with the single GPU, I'm doing water cooling because I'd like to start building pc's for members of my community. So I need the experince as well as the advertisement. Stupid ppl love cool looking stuff! And I live in a town of rich morons! Thankfully. Still the signle gpu idea I dig. I might shoot for the 7970 GHz Edition. it might even SLI with my 6950 sufficently

like what I see on the 7970, am definatly going to water cool and OC the hell out of it before I do an entirely new build. I might be able to OC my Ivy i5 to 4ghz maybe. Will defintlay try OC and water cooling on my current rig as upgrades before I build. will most likely start reaseraching it in the fall. I know a fellow who can help as well! hanks guys, and yea n i3 would die with the Dolpphin Emulator. my i5 maxes all cores around 70% when emulatoring GAME cube, it wont even run Wii at full speed xD

Well a 7970 is well and good but...it seems your main reason for upgrading is emulation. Thing is, emulating is a CPU process. Even an i7 will have a hard time if you upscale everything and no amount of GPU processing power will help. You could stick SLI'd GTX Titans in your rig it will still cough and wheeze. Just the nature of the beast.

on a completely unrelated note. I see Happy Birthdays being thrown around. So...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the celebrants! biggrin.gif

Grats!

Here's what I just got in the mail, along with a stack of doujin CD's and $800 worth of transistors.

I need to look for a SATA cable to plug in my CD drive again, I took it out because a friend needed one to install a SSD. tongue.gif

You guys sure have expensive Uni. $5000 a year is quite high.

I'll be entering a University of Tech in France (I've applied to a few, answers will be given in late May to early June) and it ranges from 160 Euros to 500 Euros a year for public universities.

Private ones though, they are from around 1000 Euros a year to 5000 Euros a year.

Anyway, I've been to the Headfonia store and I met Mike, I only talked a bit to him because he was quite busy and need to go off.

In his shop I tried the Fostex TH600, STAX SRS-002, V-Moda M100, V-Moda LP2, ALO International Amp and Portaphile 627X.

I'll post my impressions later on.

Dayum, that's an epic amount of transistors! What are you going to be using them all again for?

Yep, uni is quite expensive in the states. Mine all in all with all applicable fees and room and board is $28,000. Then again, the government probably subsidizes tuition much more in Europe than in the US.

Please.

They are ported games running on emulators.

They will of course be like that.

Do not base performance you need off an emulator

yea OFC, the emulator is why I need it. I know what kind of machines runs them at full speed. A damn powerful one because there's SO much to emulate. Besides I've told u guys before I have lagg in Fire Fall and a number of other games. It's clear to me I need a better rig. Still thanks for the insight. Non the less

well I've seen i7's overclocked to hell and back run game cube at 100% smooth. I run around 50 fps so it's much more that I need. Although more power= better performance in emulators. Both the gpu and cpu work together. I've maxed by gpu to 100% load on ps2 emulation before... so it's obvious to me I need a better cpu,. In addition when I first oc my gpu I got better performance in the emulator, not much but clear improvement

and I'm not upscaling I'm re rendering, and again I've seen how more cpu an gpu processing has improved perfmance on my machine so my logic stands >.>

>.> thank good ness for cheap souther eastern US schools, still inder USD 4000 a semester for me, and the state still covers everything!

come to think about it, I forgot about the miscellaneous fees

now that's worse

total is almost SGD40000 for four years...

Mine is AUD1350 per subject, so 1350 x 24 subjects in total = AUD32400 I have to pay back for my uni courses once completed. Not to mention another $25k for a masters degree I plan on doing after.

That's worth $800?? You've gotta be kidding me......
btw I bought 360 transistors for P-T and they cost $32,

then again 270 of them are small TO-92 ones.

This, though if they don't shaft their customers they don't have any money to continue making anime :S
Haha, do you have an ecchi wallpaper or something?
Wow, ganbatte! Better get off HF and try and focus on studying...
Lol, I think that's just because our government knows how to regulate just enough wink.gif

Ah crud.  I have to admit that I'm pretty out of the scene this month.  All the spare time I don't spend Skyping and watching Battlestar Galactica (of all things) I'm over at avsforum talking about subwoofers and room measurements rolleyes.gif

www.avsforum.com/u/8404792/joe0bloggs

But I'll be back soon!  As soon as I finish BSG... which will probably be after this month's headphone expo...
Welcome back
