VXAce is like a water "truther".

Lol.

ROs are amazing, and the fact that more places aren't using it is kinda strange to me. Esp. places like California where there is a severe water shortage and yet has an agricultural industry to support. There are obviously issues with it, but those can be worked out over time. Singapore processing their own sewage is a surprise to me, though because it's a land based RO plant, they have the space and energy to filter or process out the errrrr... crap that comes with it (moar stages, moar powah).

Mostly the issues with RO are space, energy consumption (RO plants need butloads of energy) and What do you do with all the leftover brine salts (though if you have even more space you can process it for minerals in evaporation lakes, ex, magnesium is often produced from brine salts).

Make an A/B box!

2 inputs, 1 headphone output, 1 switch; or something similar

I'm still trying to figure out how to make an A/B box that would work with everything I wanted to test, including amps, DACs, cables, etc. The guy who invented the very first A/B box used to reply to some of my posts here.

Woah woah woah why does an O2 cost 140 bucks to build? I was thinking more like....$40 tops. Look for a cheap DIY kit on ebay or aliexpress or something, 140 is crazy for an O2.

Yeah...the JDS Labs O2 is only $129, so all the extra stuff he wanted makes things a bit too expensive.

The amount if cash I threw into this hobby is well over $9000..... could've gotten a nice TOTL setup for that lol

That's around the total "original" value of all the audio equipment I've had. (Add tens of thousands for all the music I bought, before I had the sense to pursue good gear.)

What are your favorite headphones, by the way? (You don't list anything on your profile and I don't remember if we talked about this years ago.)

Yeah...after a certain point, I just thought, "screw doing math and calculations all day. I might as well kill myself."

At one point when I was a teenager, I wanted to be an astrophysicist. But although I got over 100% in physics class, I was never a math person at all...so much for that.

  Bless mobages

Hmm. Gonna have to see this.

Watch this. hahaha

  HD6xx happens!

Always feels like the XX(s) looks similar to some signboards in Amsterdam....

That is a crazy good price. (Though I only paid $230 for a used HD 650 'cause I got lucky.)

The key visuals oh boy, not gonna get my hopes up but hoping it will be decent due to the amount of new servants can bring to the table.

It's probably gonna be janky, that studio isn't very good..... but sometimes bad studios can surprise you like DEEN did with Rakugo.....

  Lol.

I'm a total water snob and I live in a desert, I will probably drink 3x the water of the average human in my lifetime. I LOVE RO water, it is the easiest to chug when you're thirsty, too many minerals like California's schiitty Arrowhead water and I just feel ill drinking it. Our water here is all ground water that's treated to all hell and tastes horrible. A softener or carbon filter does nothing, RO is all I can stand for everyday consumption.

RO does have an energy problem and a water waste issue with how it creates something like 5 gal (19 L) of drinking water for every 20-90 gallons (75-340 L) flushed as waste. This is in home systems of course. You're mention of brine salts I guess means you're talking about Desalination which of course is a whole other can of worms. You can probably purify and sell the salts as "seasalt" and sell it in high end stores for maximum profit!

The main thing is that the basic O2 on B-stock costs only 99 dollars... Plus all the other configurations, I feel like paying 140 dollars just for an experience on something I may mess up badly on might not be worth it. 140 dollars can do a lot...

What you guys think of the HD 6XX?

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx?referer=KQ3CAV#_=_

For $199 with free USA shipping sounds like a deal :D

*Meanwhile using my Philips SHE3590 EQed to schiit, out of my noisy Samsung Galaxy S3 over my fully functional AKG Q701 and dac/amp. Sometimes I'll just use the Q701, which I got for 90 USD, straight out of the S3 if I want to feel memory foam on my head and don't mind the sound.*

*Goes to store with Focal Utopia. Still chooses Philips SHE3590 with DSP for sound.*

.-.

Free DSP can do wonders to kill an audiophile by getting them addicted to music without paying for the upgrades.
