Do these people really want these technologies etc no matter what they might cost/what problems they could cause?
Not so sure about that. Almost sounds like you are talking about hardcore transhumanists
Still in for a copy and I'm pretty sure that I can activate it.
message me on steam, we can talk about it
Talking about mobile OSes, I can't wait for Android L. I read through Google's Design blog and the requirements/philosophy behind "Material Design" and I very much like it. It's more flashy than the reserved minimalism I usually see in things like Japanese architecture or just minimalistic design but there's nothing wrong with that. I actually think it's a nice contrast to the average neutral-colored minimalism.
Also I heard Android 5.0 is supposed to integrate USB audio (so UAC1 native support). Nice to know I don't need to have to get Cyanogenmod working anymore or get USB Audio Recorder.
We got some Samsung Galaxy stuff into my house recently. My mom got a S5 and we got a Galaxy Tab 3.0
And I gotta say. Not trying to be an Apple fanboy right now. I've never used AT HOME, Samsung products before and never thought anything of the comments about Samsung's lack of originality or design capabilities. But seriously. Now that I have had extensive use with Samsung products running Android with their slightly custom ROM's. I gotta say............ pretty schitty experience. Almost felt like I was using off brand materials.
Most of Samsung Galaxy S5's bells and whistles were reviewed to be half baked schiit. After a few weeks of using it. I gotta say, it is half baked as hell. Any of the next gen interactivity features (fingerprint login, scrolling with hands etc) work 50% of the time. Fingerprint is ok, but the others are half baked. Samsung on ATT also has Chinese native support COMPLETELY removed. I do not joke you.
But all in all, deserving of the general 8/10 review rating.
The Galaxy Tab on the other hand is one of the largest steaming piles of schiit I have used in a name brand product.
Without even mentioning the 20+ models for the same years model 'types'. The schiit needs DIY driver updates sometimes. For the one we had. Windows update didn't work. It coudln't instal the driver. We had to manually install it. But then came the next problem. Samsung didn't have the exact exact model we had. The only model with drivers for download on their website was the same model...but with a 'white' color addition next to it. I thought that since it was only a color change, the drivers would still work. Nope. It half worked. It detected it, but it was faulty drivers and had schiit tons of Windows errors.
Did I also mention that the phsyical on/off buttons and what not on it are schitty and lose and submerged as hell? Couldn't even tell if I was pressing the button. And then comes how schitty the Samsung is when it loses all battery. I had to plug it into the computer to charge it as it lost all power. The family members that brough over the tablet to stay with us forgot their charger. Me being lazy, I tried to charge it with my computer. It won't charge without drivers on the OS. I schiit you not. Powering off my computer to do USB charge (my computer has this feature) didn't work.
After 30 mins, I found a work around. While the tablet won't charge, it will re-turn on, and pretend it is charging but doesn't charge. After I leave it for a few minutes, I quickly plug it into a 'real' charger on the wall. It is a legit charger capable of the 2.1 Amps tablets and Samsung devices need. That got it charged.
All in all. Samsung, why are you pushing stuff out as if you were some schitty Chinese knock off company?
