The Takstar Hi2050 (Technical Pro HPT990) is a semi-open headphone, that comes with Velvet ear pads.
The Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000) is a closed headphone, that comes with Leather ear pads.
both headphone are 60-Ohms.
The Takstars are sold under more then one name (like Technical Pro & Gemini), so just buy whatever has the lowest price you can find.

Not sure if this question has been addressed on this thread, but is the Takstar Hi2050s cables removable??? Seems like they are from some of the pics i have seen.

how abt their sound characteristic and made quality between the 2. monitor hp usually sound less fun to me so i am more interested wif the 2050. like senn hd25-ii.. i tried but not impressed.

Takstar Hi2050 has a fixed cable.

The $200 Beyerdynamic DT880 has better sound quality then the $70 Hi2050.

That I know I have other HP too but do not mind a spare one affordable and good enough.
I am sure my MS2i is much better and I will one day get the MS-Pro.
 
I previously have a Superlux 681F, I cannot stand it's treble and gave it away. That is one of my only HP I actually give it away.
I have a PX-200II but I want to leave it as a commuting HP, Grado is not friendly to people wearing glasses so I usually use them removing my spectacle so a spare one I can surf net and listen to music with my glasses on.

I own the Technical Pro versions of the Hi2050s which are exactly the same and had the HD25 but replaced them with Amperiors.

The Hi2050s are to me more neutral but also have a mild U shape. The HD25 have more punch with that midbass hump they are known for but the Hi2050s can reach a little lower when called upon. However, the HD25's are faster and tighter down low. Not surprising dealing with an open design with a closed design. The midrange on the Hi2050s are more forward than on the HD25s but I'd say the HD25s resolve better here where the Hi2050s can get congested here. The highs are brighter and more forward on the HD25s.

I was never impressed with HD25 at all. I walk in to audit a pair and was disappointed maybe I have too high hope on them. I feel the PX200-II is similar just less powerful, it is a HP I use all rounder but doesn't have characteristic. I think I have listen to Grado too much but don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Sennheiser too. I am quite interested in HD600 actually. I read a review of Hi2050 and the reviewer didn't give high remarks I read in headfi some said the Hi2050 is not too far away from DT880 and HD600.

So, let me get this straight, if you want more bass, choose the pro 80 over the 2050? What about if I want more comfort? And do the 2050s have a more neutral sound? Or are they a little more bassy? Thinking about pulling the trigger on the Technical Pro HPT990 though, just for the carrying case that comes with it. Can someone clarify this information for me?

I am pretty sure Pro 80 and Hi2050 use the same drivers, so they are close soundwise.
Pro80 is rolled of a bit earlier in the high notes
Pro80 has more impact in the bass (probably the pads)
Pro80 does not go as deep as HI2050, but very close
Pr080 is not for big heads, 2050 is a bit larger
Pro80 is prettier
Pro80 comes with a nice box (that you never will use anyway, but who cares it is cool.
comfort depends on your preference in velour or pleather.

Well, I have a fairly large head, I really do prefer velour pads, I prefer quality over quantity bass and I really like the look of the 2050/ HPT990. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

How does it sound?.... like common ear bud supplied with common MP3. Haha, I could not hear thing I hear before but still ok for general listening nothing too bad nothing too outstanding. But to be fair, I am use to MS2i which is forward and detail.

Yup, you get this nice Pro Gear type case which is actually pretty light. Not exactly useful for portable use but a nice freebie non the less.
