This is a prime example of why The Wizard isn't allowed to run the marketing department. Way to talk up your latest product, you modest devil!

Roflmao. I think the Wizard should be in charge of Heirs marketing. Straight shooting and telling folks the way that it is you gotta love that. Every deal ends with a spit and a handshake much better than those cutthroat marketing sales individuals.

John any chance of a ciem version of the Tzar?

But we demand hyperbole and exaggeration!

I am so confused then... 4a vs 8a. What is better? WIth that huge price disparity I thought one of them would win out by quite a margin :...(???

The one YOU like wins out by a large margin.    Even though one review out of many stated he prefered the 4.A over his 8.A, that does not mean the result will be the same for every one.  If anything it shows how different we enthusiasts are.  I do not disregard the review as bullocks, as the reality is, both the 4.a has made a lot of people happy, and the 8.a has made a lot of people happy as well.

One of the things I have to do is keep the design disparity between the products large enough to justify their exsistance.  If you look at the direction the IEMs were leading

    1)  3.Ai Fun
    2) 4.Ai Clinical'sh
    3) Tzar 90   -  High impedance - mixed bag approach, really can't say clinical or fun (neutral?)
    4) Tzar 350 - Hyper clinical

It was time to return to powerful hard hitting sq, Much like when Mustang had a rash of low powered cars produced due to fuel costs etc.   Once they felt it was time, the 5.0 was released, and people were very happy to see the return of "muscle" to a muscle car.

There were many requests for an 8.A IEM, the response whas and still is today, it could not be done due to housing size constraints.  If the goal is to fit as many people as possible with a universal shell, then the goal is also to get the housing down as small as possible.

Any how, the 5.0 is a very fun product, I like it, but I can't say I like it over "X" IEM as I can not harm the sales of other products. All I can say is, they have their own design goals and fit their own niche. Ultimately I hope people purchase based on that, rather than what was just recently released. Then again if you have buckets of dosh, and you just want to taste the latest creation.....  by all means....  contact us....we are here 24/7

Honeslty the deffinition of a reference earphone is all over the chart.

Some say that flat would define an ear phone as reference with a High Frequency boost to make up for the ear canal resonance loss that is created by inserting an object into the ear canal.

Some would also say an ear phone that is not capable of transduceing the layering of low frequecies, accuratley portraying the layers of a male singer such as Freddie Combs or Randy Travis etc.  is not reference caliber.

I saw the Heir Audio website for their customs that there is an option for Wizard to help us design my CIEMs artwork and design? To be honest, I think that that's a great idea for me, however, I was wondering is it possible to give any specifications to the design (such as maybe, let it be nature themed, or sports themed etc) and let Wizard work from there instead of pure freestyling?

I mean, I want to get something which fits my personality right? Imagine me not being a movie fan and I get Transformers themed CIEMs or something.

Just wondering :) thanks

Wizard

Hmm, that seems like a pretty complete lineup except....hmmm, could it be?

Yes, yes!

HEIR AUDIO DYNAMIC DRIVER CIEM
HEIR AUDIO DYNAMIC DRIVER CIEM
HEIR AUDIO DYNAMIC DRIVER CIEM
HEIR AUDIO DYNAMIC DRIVER CIEM
HEIR AUDIO DYNAMIC DRIVER CIEM

Imagine the smooth, natural sound in the mids, real bass feel only a dynamic can give and perfect timbre with non-fatiguing yet very well extended highs!.

The driver will be made from some special, magical substance never before seen by humankind--possibly Unicorn furs--thus making Heir Audio once again a pioneer in the field.

It can be ours if we all let the Wizard know we would like it!

Feel free to pm him all the time about it.

I know I have!

P.S. everyone click the little "thumbs up" at the right hand bottom of this post to let the wizard know you want this.

Hi Charpi

You can trust the Wizard to create a great design. I speak from personal experience and it was very full filling and humbling to work with the wizard. Although he is very busy he really takes the time.

Ps PM-ed you.

Cheers

Had an 8.A. Sad to have let it go. Looking to getting it again with a better design someday.

Then Tzar 350 came, now the Heir 5.0.

Am in a headache now. Do i,

1) stay with my plan for a new 8.A and have a secondary iem, Tzar 350?  this is closest to instant gratification (well.. in 6 weeks or so at least)

or

2) get the Heir 5.0 and wait for the next custom magic (maybe a 10.A)?  kinda be hanging in the air for the next unknown custom.

or

3) get the 8.A and wait for the next custom magic (maybe a 10.A)? this will close my bank account for the rest of the year though.

Oh ya. this is coming from a guy who has a JH 13 pro and ibasso dx100.

Then the alternative to that would be to get the Tzar 350 as your secondary and leave it as that. Giving you a little more spending power to get what you want later down the line e.g. next custom or any other stuff.

The next alternative. Get nothing at all

The Tzar was high on my list with the 8.A, till the news on 5.0 came by.

Really in a dilemma. Suspect i may end up getting the 8.A and Tzar first since miss the 8.A sound lots!

As you are set on the 8.A think you should get that first and take your time. Almost like you have decided you require a secondary pair for the sake of it, but without knowing if the 8.A will make everything else redundant for your ears

Before you ask some of us have more money than sense. Do not fall into the same trap!

Actually am familiar with the 8.A signature and did a small review which can be found in post #2 of the Heir Audio World Tour thread or here.

Am looking at the 8.A and Tzar 350 combo, besides missing the sound of the 8.A, is that my current JH13 pro are over 4 years old and worry they may retire in the not too distant future.
So thought it makes sense to acquire the 8.A once more (perhaps with a fresher design) and the Tzar 350 to satisfy my appetite for neutral and critical sound.

Apologies for the lack of clarity in my post. Hope this makes up for it.
