Well Ultrasone have a whole warehouse of Ethiopian Goat they can't shift. Maybe they could use that.
Absolutely right. I pick my music for the MUSIC, not the recording.
I listen to nothing but beautifully recorded animal farts.
I listen to 30Hz square waves.
30Hz? Wow. Elephants in rhythmdevils' collection, then.

I just woke up after yesterday's madness in Tokyo. I'm not going to attempt to post any kind of serious evaluation of the LCD-3s since we were in meet conditions. I will only say that after listening to them on a variety of gear that they sound more "right" to me than the LCD-2s. I didn't feel at all like any instruments were too forward or too recessed as I have at times with the LCD-2 revisions (though I am used to the basic "house sound" now). One highlight was trying them on the Yoshino EAR-4 with vinyl as a source while talking to Mrs Yoshino -- Tim Paravicini's wife. With the ALO CLAS/RX balanced rig sounded totally like a high-end desktop rig as well and not a portable one. The irony was, directly opposite the ALO table was the Stax table.

Thanks for recognizing the CLAS/Rx (or the SR71b) balanced rig. Many headfiers that shy away from or write off any portable setup as serious business really don't know how good that combo really is as I have enjoyed for the past year. I know Jude agrees with the above statement.

Which DAC chip do you use in the DB2? Sounds like a pretty serious setup iphone>clas>db2>sr71b
(photos pls lol)
The weird thing was that I wasn't impressed by Jude's SR71B/CLAS combo, but I might have had the gain set wrong and I don't know how much charge was in the batteries of any of it. It wasnt noisy at the festival actually, at least not enough to get at least a basic idea about most gear, if not fine detail.
