I use my e10 just as a DAC and put the headphone out into the line in of my Bravo Ocean tube amp. Maybe I should use the E10 line out instead? Anyway I do really like the way my Tony Bennets sound with it. I have done headphone testing in HiFi shops and have been amazed as to how well this compares to set ups costing three and more times the amount I have invested.

Somehow I prefer the sound to my amp from the headphone out of the E10. Not sure why it sounds any different or better. I wouldn't say the DJ100 out of the E10 is horrible, but just that it's mids are a tad more fatiguing (for me). I'll be comparing the E10 to the ODAC soon. We'll see which one I prefer. Right now for the DJ100 I prefer the X-Fi Go Pro DAC over the HRT MSII and E10. Not for my Q701 though...

The E10 seems to have some similarities to the HRT MSII, but maybe not..figuring out DACs is confusing. I swear that if this ODAC isn't good i'll just stick with my CD players.

Guys, I got some bad news. I think someone stole my pair of DJ100s. That or I havent looked thoroughly enough for them. I have ransacked my house and car looking for them. Not sure if I'll buy another pair or jump up the ladder to something big(HE-400 + ODAC + Littledot I+ perhaps?) and open. I'll notify you guys if I find the pair. I'm currently stuck on my IEMs :frowning2:

It wasn't me, I have a receipt to prove it! Good luck finding them.

I need a good pair of closed cans for walking around in public. I mostly listen to rock, alternative, and some hip-hop. It seems like a good choice with the m50 pads, plus I might be able to get the dj100s for cheap because I am close to the world headquarters/ outlet store! What do you guys think? I also read the the dt770s velour pads fit the sth-m50. If that is the cas, wouldn't they also fit the dj100s?

Hey EvilNarwhal I went to the outlet in Wisconsin fairly recently and they are still selling for $80. Not to mention that the outlet is tiny and someone keeps constant watch over you. Just thought I'd let you know :)

My DJ100's arrived yesterday. I am burning them now. First impressions: more detailed than portapros. But brighter. Bass goes deep if the recording calls it. Need to hear the sweat midrange... Soundstage is surprising for a closed headphone. I hope the burn-in will help. I have tried Fostex T50RP earpads but they are larger than DJ100 (so did not fit). I have tried AKG K340 pleather earpads. They fit somehow but they are also  a bit large. Sound and look is better with the stock earpads for me now.

Found my DJ100s. Some ding dong in my family crushed between the seat in our car (one of those minivan seats that you can collapse). I don't know how people can say they have bad build quality. I pulled them out of a tight area, squishing them, and they work fine, the cable is undamaged, minor scratches, worst of it was the headband fabric on the top had a minor tear.

That will probably give you problems in the future if you don't get it fixed ASAP. My only complaint about the durability of these headphones is about the plastic hinges connecting the the cups to the headband. I'm so afraid that one of these days, I'll bend the hinge too far and snap it by accident.

I'll probably cover it up with som electrical tape. I actually find the plastic hinges pretty solid. Though if there was a place to break the DJ100s, it would be those plastic hinges.

Hello guys, my TBSE1 arrived yesterday and wow, the sound quality is very good for a $80 headphone. They sound incredible good with female vocals and asian pop just as tdockweiler said; I love acoustic music as well with these. For electronic music...mmm well, they're not that good except some songs but it's not bad either.

The build quality is really really nice, they're very sturdy and well constructed. In terms of comfort they are ok, just enough for me. I'm glad I didn't buy those Beats Solo hd

I'm loving these headphones. Right now I'm listening to Cruel angel's thesis (Evangelion main theme) and sounds incredible.

Good to know you like them.
I listened to mine today for about an hour. I think I somehow went a whole week without listening to them for more than 10 minutes. Just too busy with my new ODAC and the Q701/HD-580.

If anyone is interested, the ODAC is perfect with them. Sometime i'll buy the O2, but i'm not in any hurry.
I thought it was impossible to improve the DJ100 any further but even the bass is better with the ODAC! It doesn't increase in quantity or anything like that though.
It seems even the soundstage is better from the ODAC compared to the HRT MSII with the DJ100.

I think the DJ100 sounds best on devices that are not too dark or too warm. Maybe amps that also play well with the M50 and HD-650.
