Thanks for your responses. I will burn them in with the frequency sweeps. i have these files, i have used them in the past on my home theater subwoofers and speakers.

plakat, i use them barely 1 hour in a day, if i keep them for 200 hrs it might take me years.. :) I use my Vsonic GR07 most of the time.

By the way, whats a good recommended amp for the DT1350?

Most importantly.

Enjoy the cans.

You're free to let them play for themselves of course, but its not going to change anything. The pads need some usage to get softer... you can knead them with your fingers as well. Point is that the seal gets better when the pads get a bit softer, therefore bass response increases to the level intended by Beyerdynamic. Frequency sweeps are simply useless I'm afraid.

While you don't exactly need an amp (they work fine out of an iPhone e.g.) they pair very well with the Fostex HP-P1 or HP-V1. The Beyerdynamic A200p is a cheap choice with DAC+amp thats also worth a look.

Enjoy!

Interesting observation you have got there.

I am still looking for replacement pads that are thicker, and was wondering if I can find someone who can "customise" them? Hmmm... just a silly thought but who knows? One day I might just bump into someone who can do that.

Surprisingly, the DT1350 sounded even more aggressive with the Audiolab M-DAC. It gave a lot more grit when I am listening to more "close and tight" content like rock, metal, rap. I listen to a wide genre of music. Generally though, I am happy pairing it with the Teac HA-P50. Laid back and warm. Strings and vocals sounds so sweet in this combo (for me).

I enjoy burning in headphones on my head...

With that said, I love my ALO Rx Mk3 b paired with my DT1350s.  And my HiFi M8 is a very good DAC/AMP combo...

Beyerdynamic DT-1350's + Beyerdynamic A200p, a great combo which sounds fantastic. Very cersatile too, i use it for music at my computer desk and also when i'm in bed or the lounge hooked up to my ipad or android phone.

Grab the T51p pads, they're thicker and more comfy. Dale Thorn has a great video on youtube where he explains the differences that the pads make to the sound and comfort.

If you guys haven't tried the Velour Pads with your 1350's you are really missing out. Even larger leatherette doesn't do it. These are significantly more comfortable, do not cause your ears to get warm, and allow subterranean bass. You can get them from the Sonix site here. I can now wear mine for hours on end in comfort.

Sure... just after I bought the fluffy black clouds, haha!

I may buy some velours at some point, but I'm super happy with the T51p pads right now.

I had T50's before I got the 1350 but at that time the pads were the same.  There are two advantages of the Velour pads over the pleather ones from my experience. The first is that the ability to get a proper seal is significantly easier and exists over a greater area. Now this may also be easier with the larger 51p pads as well. This better seal allows the bass to extend further. The other one is due to the nature of the material. It both breathes and is more compliant which eliminates for me the hot ear issues I had with the stock ones.

thanks, you brought a valid point about the ears getting hot. I feel the same, at times it even gets itchy. So velour is it. I will place an order for these now. Did u remove the original ones? or did u just put the velour pad over the existing oem one?

Most definitely remove the original ones. They easily peel off.
