There are sure a lot of head-fiers who know the Focal for its speakers. I think this is the first time Focal brings out a headphone, the Spirit One. They will cost 199€ and I think they will be available in the end of the year.

Here is a pic:

They look like good competitors for the b and w p5.

Haha, nice one. Focal is known for making some very good and expensive speaker drivers though. I think they've used poisonous metals like beryllium for cone material.

Yeah the Utopia Be's by Focal have those.

Focal and Rainbow both make super high end speakers and I think they make the best stuff if you're trying to get into super high end...

Right now I think Hertz is reigning champ for car speakers in terms of price/performance...

I have no doubt these are going to sound amazing

wow seems like lots of speaker makers are getting into the headphone arena

B&W first , now Focal, Polk, PSB, and Paradigm

It's the future in many ways - i was reading this 'never ending' thread the other night on some site
lamenting how smaller living spaces and convenience is threatening to kill off the big, Hi-Fi setup
amongst audiophiles. The super high end setup will always remain, but those afflicted with small
living conditions and the ones that want portability in a setup will always turn to a headphone.

Another thing that Focal are doing is getting into Wi-Fi and integrating smaller packages like
the SuperBird 2.1 system.

2 years of engineering sounds good to me.

The more time that is spent on R&D and engineering, the more likely they will sound like rubbish because it takes three seconds to know if something sounds right and the rest of the time spent is most likely the "engineers" disappearing up their own arses.
