These are the ones that are currently with Daanish in Canada and Confispect and MuppetFace would be next on my list. Since I want people to take all the time they need to try these phones, I usually don't attach a time limit to my loans, so it's hard to predict how long it will take until a member passes them on to the next. Suffice to say that I have no reason to be concerned atm.

Excellent James.  Your post a few weeks ago was troubling so I'm glad there's nothing to worry about.

Unbelievable! The right side (the side with the microphone) just died on me spontaneously, and I've tried them with multiple sources now to confirm that it's indeed the earphones themselves. The right side produces about 10% of volume, while the left is as good as ever. Always babied, never once dropped. I miss them already. I'll give Harman a call tomorrow.

I would be ready to blow up that company if I paid that much money and a driver died on me....LOL.. I do understand... A solid reason why it will probably be years (and the release of the of the k6006) before I've ever hear these rich spoiled babies...

It's quite literally as if the right side just gave out on it's own. I've sent them an email just now, and will post back once it's been sorted out.

Oh man...

I'm so sorry to hear about your K3003 trouble! I know how sickening the feeling is when something so costly and precious goes kaput.

I was really close to pulling the trigger on these too, but after hearing this, the thought of having to send the K3003 back to Singapore for warranty (since I'd be buying from Stereo to get the non "i" version) is just too much.

You have my condolences, and I hope you get the problem ironed out soon!

Price doesn't guarantee anything. Stuff happens. Hope you get your babies back soon.

I agree. Ever product has failures. Unless and until we see a 'disturbing trend', I wouldn't make any decisions on the basis of an example of one.

(I too hope that this gets fixed quickly. If it's your "one", then it's a failure of 100%.)

So sad to hear that my friend :frowning2:

Just to be sure, did you check the tip? I once had one side of my K3003 extremely muted due to an incorrectly mounted tip, that's why I'm asking.

Absolutely agree. Unless it's a recurring trend, it's just (bad) luck of the draw. I'm just glad my purchase was made through Harman directly, so there should be a quick turnaround.

I know what you mean, my friend. The very first thing I suspected was the tips being mounted/positioned wrong. Sure enough, tips were fine. Then I checked to see if maybe I needed to pop the right side of my ear, and equalize the pressure. Nope, ears were fine, since all my other earphones sounded just fine. Irrespective of source (PC, mobile phone, iPad, Studio-V), the problem persisted. And so, I was convinced. I tested them this morning as well, and the right side is still (nearly) as dead as a doorknob.

What concerns me, however, is not the indestructible stainless steel design of the earphones, but the rather flimsy, rubbery cable above the y-split point. The cable below the split seems durable, but above the split, it's got me questioning their durability. That said, I've no real way of knowing whether or not it's the part of the cable, or the transducers that gave out. All the while, as soon as it occurred, I looked to my right, and the 3 musketeers (Miracle, EX1000, & PFE232) stared me right in the face, as if to say, "we got your back i2!" Or maybe they're trying to cover up their evil scheme, and my Miracle is behind all this... time for my daily meds... (just trying to keep the mood light

On a serious note, to music, james, and other K3003 owners, what do you fellas' make of the cable above the y-split?
